It has great oil pressure, and wires, cap, and rotor are Sierra Marine. I've had great luck with them over the years. I have not tried the wires from the other engine. I will do that!

One thing I can add to the above is the careful use of a heat gun. Just be careful that you don't get the gelcoat too hot

Most likely reversion, which could be caused by a leaky riser connection. Be sure the gasket is in good shape, along with using some good hi temp gasket sealer.
