As far as warranty goes if its not from Mercury its not worth anything. What are you going to do take your boat from the midwest to TX to get some crap taken care of???!!!!!!!!!!!

Do the 496"s have forged crankshafts and rods like the old 502MAGS? Someone told me they are not forged but cast is this true? Thanks for info.

Have you guys checked your tachs with a timing light to get an accurate reading on rpm? I run a 26 legend with a 454 mag and a Mirage plus 21 p and ran 63.0 gps last saturday (88 dergree air temp)...

depth finder wont work?

My depth finder only flahes cray 3 digit readings any ideas why? Its a LOWRANCE THRU HULL. Before when starting out the day it would read .5ft then when took off it would work. Its a 1999 model

I can answer my own question now. I got a 454mag efi installed in my boat a couple weks ago. The best I have had to date was 62.9mph on GPS. 62.1 with a load of 3 adults and 2 kids is pretty common....

Good question. Its one I would like to know also. I have been told the 454 make more torque. But as far as overall performance Im not sure someone has to know on this site.

Does your carb have the inline filter near the fitting from the fuesl line to the carb? I had an old donzi that did what you describe and my filters were plugged.

I trade my 7.4mpi for a 454 mag efi(385hp) it has 186hrs on it. I have only had the boat out 2 times with the 454 mag. So I need more water time to really see where Im at prop wise. Do any of you...

I have a 1999 260 legend just put a 454 mag efi in last week. We just got off the lake a 8pm and the temp was about 85 and very humid in Wisconsin. With 3 adults and 3 kids And running a 21p Mirage...
