What sort of ignition problem? No spark? What year is the engine? tiller or remote? If it's no spark I'd try dissconnecting the kill switch first. Should be a black wire with a yellow tracer.

Here in Cape Coral, I've have seen tiny barnacles start to grow in as little as 4 days. Pain to get off.

Anybody running a pcv valve with a roots style supercharger?
It looks like the older merc 525 and 600 sc's used one that in mounted in the back of the intake manifold.
