I built a base for mine and installed it in place of the compass on my 288. cant post pics here but if you go to the Sunsation website and search Garmin GPS Map 430sx you can see what I did. Works...

good advice Ray too bad there is'nt an alternative for the Merc cool fuel filters ,with the crappy fuel we are getting now its probably more important than the oil filter.

agree 10k the cost difference is not that great and you will need it when the fuel and water tanks are full along with with all the gear, coolers/beer etc. weight adds up quickly
