Go to:

Searay.com.

Then click on "customer support". You can download the owners manual which will have good data for you.

I just looked up your boat, so it is there.

I recommend Hydromotive Engineering....

Intimidator Quad IV. I would go with a 24 Pitch.

I am running a 1989 Pachanga 22 with the same stock engine, but I have a Bravo I drive. I am running a Quad IV that they tweaked to about 22.5...

Get an Allison Grand Sport and meet all of your criteria except being a tunnel, with the added benefit of being the best built 20 foot v hull boat made...period...bar none...that is not a...

I must have gotten sucked in to an inside joke...

I followed the recommendation to use "The Works" because I had some in the house.

BAD move. The bottom gel is forever etched now. Wax does not want to buff off, major swirls, no shine what so...

What do you want done?

It makes a big difference in who you go with.

By the way, I am one of the guys from Scream and Fly. I use the same user name over there.

I just looked up the marine surveyor company...

you are going to use. The are listed in SAMS and I saw at least two names of SAMS accredited surveyors. So you probably made a good choice.

You may want to ask how much extra it would be for a...

Call Hydromotive Engineering @ 330-425-4266.

They can help talk you through what you need to do prop wise.

Then you can look around for a used one, or splurge the $500 to $700 for a new one.

There are lots more prop shops out there, but...

Go to...

http://www.marinesurvey.org/

Look at their listing of surveyors. Do your home work!!!!

Do not take anybody's word that they are an "accredited" surveyor, or that they are a member of SAMS or...

If it is a stock 454 manifold...

there should be a plug just left of the thermostat opening ON THE MANIFOLD, not on the big housing that bolts to the manifold.

It is one of those that you use a 3/8 extension to remove.

The...

I run the Wicked Marine cooler that Rockfish71 referenced...

I ran behind/to the side of my boat on a PWC and watched that thing work. I personally do not think you will find a better one.

It sprays tons of water on the sides and top...Very effective.

Not over propped.

Running a 21p, and it tops at right at 44-4500.

Sea Pump just rebuilt, plus the water temp is plenty cool.

I thought that I read on these OSO threads that the pressure should be around 12 PSI...

Do I need a bigger oil cooler....

Just left the river and I wrote down all my readings from today.

This is a 1989 Pachanga 22 with a "new" 20 year old 454 (It sat in storage for 15 years with 5 hours on it. It now has 10 hours on...

I followed my oil line....

leaving the oil pump and the first stop is the filter, prior to the oil cooler. Therefore, I am going to assume that the temp at that point is pretty close to being directly from the oil pan.

I...

Unless I missed it...

I did not see anybody mention adding a capacitor. Even adding the batteries may not address the issue of power use by the amp and subwoofer at peaks when the volume is cranked up.

If the problem...

Pull the distrbutor and prime the engine...

using a priming shaft on a drill.

A little overkill, but worth the effort in my opinion.

I am having one installed right now that sat for 15 years, definitely going to be primed.

Edit...I...
