My brother in law owns a Ford dealership. Blue runs in his veins. HE told me to not buy a Ford 6.0. He said used 7.3's don't last on his lot a week.....He said the 6.0 is one of the worst mistakes...

Programmers throw your mileage computer waaaaaaaaay off. Hand calculate it, and you'll be at 15-19 mpg like everybody else.

The Ford's are nice trucks, but the new LBZ is one baaaad mother...... Go with GM. I love my LLY Duramax, and it pulls (and smokes) like a freight train.!

No BS, mine honestly seemed to loosen up around 10K..... I did break it in hard tho, so maybe that explains it compared to 25K-30K that some are reporting....

My wife drives a Civic beater and she gets more like 35+ mpg. that's a big difference over 25.....

beaters are where it's at...... run em hard, not worry about a darn thing.!

Try to find a 96 or newer, they were the start of the Vortec motors and have quite a bit more power. The 95 on down were pretty doggy I thought. Chassis and tranny will be fine.

Take the money you would spend on the blower, combine it with the money you can get out of your motor, and buy a 502 or carbed hp500. You will be a long ways ahead with longetivity, and at resale...

I also think you have a pretty bad mismatch, personally. A single plane intake prob isn't the best for that...

My friend has an Expedition and it tows like crap, but he's only got the 4.6. If you have the 5.4, you should be fine. You will definately be at the high end of the rating tho......
