You can always put graphics on the carbon fiber panels as well...

I would bet it is to keep the shifters in gear while running hard. I had to do the same thing on my Marine Machine controls and that was the main reason I switch to Livorsi controls.

the guys at Latham will be adding extra shifter and throttle, so I'll ask them if they can modify mine while they have it down there to prevent that from happening
Has anyone out there with Latham controls, used their quick release pin that locks all of the throttles together for ease of use when underway? |
David, any new updates to the 36? pics would be nice :grinser010:

You are correct sir! After some fact checking, it seems the boat history was; Falcon racing, Accurate marine, Sonic hedgehog, then Snakeman Racing. Ocean outboard was the cut down 36 triple outboard.
Thanks to Ronnie Rossie for clearing that up for me! He had some fun letting me twist in the wind for a while on that one! Thanks buddy! that's correct...and Kirk from Kryptonite converted it to a pleasure boat... just ran across this thread... |

If anyone out there has any photos of Falcon Racing 36 skater It would be appreciated. I checked with Freeze Frame and they couldnt locate any, I know it raced under Falcon somewhere mid-nineties.

My skater dash has a capilano helm, (4 inch tapered shaft) when ordering new steering wheel, what kind of adapter and bezel does it take to work and look right? any thoughts? suggestions?
|
Hey DM
I believe you were working with Latham Marine? They sell the bezel, adaptor plate that will allow the use of any wheel 5 or 7 bolt pattern. You can have the bezel anodized in any color. They stock black. Hope this helps |

This boat is epoxy and Kevlar and terribly difficult to cut. The biggest problem isnt necessarily with cutting through the stuff that just takes time. The biggest problem is joining the corners of cuts you made where they meet at a bulkhead or stringer. The cutting wheels are to big to get very close so you are left with a few inches that are impossible to get at and contain very thick overlaps of Kevlar. I got around this by taking a carbide hole saw (without the drill bit in it to minimize the risk of catching the outside laminate) and poking a inch and a half hole in each corner then joining all the holes with a standard seven inch carbide wheel on a Metabo cutter. (Metabos kick azz!)
not pretty . . . . . |
I'm lookin to get into an older Skater 32
then have Shaun build me 2 of those baaad boys! noli Why not three? The older boats might be heavier than the ones he's building now... |

I received new back seat today and set it in along with the original front Skater seats that were used when boat was raced as Snakeman racing 2001-03
I'm currently waiting on the cockpit side panels, carbon fiber dash inserts and carpet. |
Wow!!
I like your design of the rear bench seating and colour selection. How did you measure the fit for the coaming pads? Who is doing your interior work? |
36 skater project
Thanks noli, I've got a local guy who took the old style mid nineties rear bench and with the help of pictures of other skater interiors from OSO classifieds was able to stitch what you see there. (there was considerable trial and error to get the armrests right).
patience is important |

Any suggestions or thoughts on a good supplier for premium marine carpeting?
|
Jon's a retailer for a lot of that stuff. He has all the swatch books and can get some nice stuff.

Nice ride
Dave, Great talking today. Your project looks great!!! I will be in touch this week with information on your "TIME BOMBS" (lmao)
