The one missing the gearcases? Congrats on your purchase! Fun FUN little boats, incredibly capable..

Puts some pics up of it and maybe someone can chime in...

manateemauler 01-13-2012 07:39 PM

that's the one and i will have a lot of question about
it when it makes it's way down here

Ryan Beckley 01-13-2012 07:42 PM

I live in Sarasota, and can help you with any 24 questions you may have. Andy Frost lives down close to you as well and he has a 24' as also.

manateemauler 01-14-2012 07:33 AM

yeah was at andy's house the other day

Latest project starting this weekend.. If my material shows up on time! (those hinges are not accurate, just a placeholder)

Jolley 01-25-2012 11:10 AM

Nice Race Hatch :) Keep the pics coming ...........................

waterboy222 01-25-2012 11:56 AM

Hopefully this weekend I can get started on it.. It will be baltex 3/4". The headrests will be made of flower foam and melted out after layup. The little piece of angle on the starboard side in the pic will be mounted to the side of the boat to give the hatch a place to rest. I think Ill probably use hood pins or something to hold it down.

My concern is the air coming over the windshield and going into the space above the center console and below the hatch, hope its not like a parachute affect. The hole will be about 12"x7".

I have to have it there though because of my elbow. My first sketch didn't work because when you'd throttle back, you'd bang your elbow on the hatch.. Guess we'll see how it comes out!

I have 3 sets of 32's that have been tried on my Eric Simon 300's, if you need a set.

blownnovaman 02-25-2012 10:47 PM

Spent the last 2 hours reading from page 1 thru 30. I have an awesome 24' Skater for sale. I would like to send pictures to anybody that can post them for me. Over $75,000 in this boat. All gel, no paint.Has
two 300 Eric Simon motors , barely broke in. Has hatch cover.Over $5000 spent, just looking for the nicest 24' out there, and this was it .Trailer blasted, painted, and electric brakes installed.Call me at 903-824-1429 , Atlanta, Texas. I am going back to a 27' Eliminator Daytona. I have too many monster motors left over from my racing days, to go outboards.Chip had the boat into low 120's. I let out at 112!!! I felt safer in my Placecraft or Youngblood jet boats. This Skater is more of a raceboat , than a lakeboat ( damn near a dragboat ) It just needs an experienced driver!!! Anybody know how to get hydraulic fluid into the k-plane reservoir?? I bought new hoses, and can't see anywhere on the reservoir
tank to fill.Hoses go into the bottom of the tank. Thanks for any help.

Great thread. Always loved the 24's. Got to take a sweet ride in Ryan's 24 years back. Did a complete lap of Key West with Ryan driving and GB on the sticks. I was pretty much sold on the 24' from that point on.

blownnovaman 03-02-2012 12:52 PM

I worked 5-16 hr. shifts this week. I have 4 people talking to me, about my boat.I sent 10
pictures to each of the four, and tried to answer all questions asked. Told each of the 4 to feel free
To post the pictures of my boat. I'm heading to Lake Greeson, Ark. this weekend for my once a
month "long" weekend. I have a friend there that can help me post pictures, and get this 24'
listed correctly. Thanks for your patience.

blownnovaman 03-05-2012 10:03 PM

I give up! Went to the lake to relax and get pictures posted and put add in the classified
section. We managed to get the pictures resized and into a file/ folder. Tried to get add
listed, but O.S.O. would not recognise my password.Tried several times with no luck.Do
You have to have a seperate password for the classifieds?? I then asked the O.S.O.
webmaster to send me my password, if they think I have another one .Still waiting on
an answer. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. Would like to get this boat listed.

waterboy222 03-07-2012 08:32 AM

go to www.imageshack.us and upload your pictures. Its VERY easy. Just click browse and select the picture you want. Then tell it to upload. It will give you a listing of all the links for it.. copy the URL for the picture and come back here.. click on the little yellow box next to the font selector that shows a mountain and a sun. paste your code there and it'll show up.

Boat sounds sick!!

It's busy, for sure...

The boat was originally a race boat. It's got trims on both sides of the dash and on the throttles, lots of gauges including pyro's, etc.

It's a cool boat, and like I said, retains the original rigging from Skater. Some say thats good, others bad.. I say it's cool because it just makes it that much more original. :)

Have you ever said ANYTHING nice about anyone else's boat but your own stuff?

One thread after another you complain and critisize everyone else boats and brag on how great your stuff is.

Maybe you should take some time off the keyboard and spend some time in the shop finishing your boat before you continue to bash everyone in the Skater Nation..... we all already know that if you didn't design it or build it it must be ugly or junk......

Bash Away......

I thought the boat was cool , sorry to offend the peanut gallery :party-smiley-004:
However I still stand by my earlier comment that the windshield below looks like crap

TOASTY 03-09-2012 08:06 AM

Ryan et al. Sad to say this person is from NJ...
In addition, he def looks like he types...

Nice work, however I stated this 3 years ago and caught hell for it. Whats really sad is that when he eventually has something interesting to add, that may be positive, we will have no interest any longer....

Does anyone know of a 24 that needs work, I am dying to get my hands on one??

Thanks for your answer. I'm back on 16's this week. Can't get much done, working 16's!!!
I will play around with it as soon as I can though. Sounds simple enough. For an old fart, I've
already learned more about these computers and phones than I ever imagined I would.Wish
I couldd spend more time on it. Anyway, I'll get the boat listed, before Summer.
Thanks for the help........

I'm Bad raced a lot of races held by GLOPRA/APBA. A friend of our family Paula use to be good friends with the owner. I think she called him bear. Lake Erie use to put all the Skaters to the test. The 24 racers use to fly by me like I was standing still but once the race was over I finished and they where on one of the dog legs at an idle making sure there heads where still on their shoulders and trying to find where their helmets landed. But everyone wanted to give it a try. I will have to look. I have a lot of pictures of the 24 from these races. Good stuff.

Price drop on my 24! :)
