Great job guy's !! I took a different route , my pnael made from 1/8 alum with welded on studs . Wanted zero exposed screws and wanted the panel to blend in with boat . The console and shifter arch were made in house also

Ryan did an awesome job on the wrap i think it made the boat! Runs awesome with 300s. The idle and run perfect. I've only gone out for the top speed a couple times. out of the box with 31p 4blades 104 on gps on the limiters. with "34p" 4blades i bought off scream and cry it only ran 108 on gps again on the limiters. My goal was 110. If she doesn't sell and I find the right prop she should be there.

Did you get the motors?

Ted Georgiu 11-04-2011 07:24 AM

Thx, I found their website, I'll give them a call.
Getting the motors on Sunday, if everything works out.

Ya, the colors match up! Wow! I hope it wasn't, but moreso hope that no one was injured!

The paint was pretty ugly but it was owned by a Harley lover.. To each his own I guess..:drink:

ryder638 11-05-2011 09:42 PM

i dont think it is the harley boat. if you look real close at the end of the video it doesn't have the angled section that goes from the sponson to the front of the deck like the 28's have.. maybe a 24 they dont have that section

waterboy222 11-22-2011 03:31 PM

Ive really considered selling mine this winter so I could get something a little larger. I used mine twice as much as I thought I would this year! Theres not many used ones available right now. I know three of them that were bought because of this thread! lol

LAriverratt 11-23-2011 09:39 AM

waterboy, thanks for the info on the 24 from key west..he never returned the call :lolhit: reconsidering any way after some research. Not sure I want to run 80-110 with no way out of the wind and bugs. Was looking at some threads here on ways to fix that but nothing looks appealing to me right now.

Mine has a windscreen that does really well. Its no canopy by any means and you can't wear a hat while running 100mph. But its SIGNIFICANTLY better than nothing. I can wear sunglasses without having them blown off my face. Not all of them have the same setup as mine though..

LAriverratt 11-23-2011 10:25 AM

have any pics of your 24??? wouldn't mind seeing what the screen looks like.

waterboy222 11-23-2011 02:41 PM

Mine is the one that apache747 posted on page one. I bought it from him.

I found a Skater 24 that has a center pod and came with triple 2.4's
The boat is now rigged with twin 2.5's. Decent shape. What do you think it might be worth and how much do you think it would cost to triples back on it. Not sure how it handles with twins and the center pod. Any idea how many came stock from the factory with 3 motors?

Is the 24 Skater all white with a newer style Skater interior with 2.5 bridgeports?
The centerpod is quite small and would think the effect on handling would be minimal.
I would not spend the time or money to go back to triples, its really too small of a boat for 3 motors, too much weight hanging off the transom, will make it more unstable in rough water.
There were maybe a handfull of triple engine 24's ever built, and Peter always advised against it, they are just insane, maybe 10 mph faster than a twin.
I had a 1990 24 Skater with twin 300X's, ran 115.
I wouldn't want to go much faster than that in a 24 foot boat.
The 24 Skater is deceptively stable though a that speed until you hit some rollers.
Good luck.
Ted

I have a really nice 24 with twin 2.5's. It sits on a nice trailer. Boat is good and solid. Whit paint with cool decals. Runs 116mph with 3 people and a half tank of fuel. 5 hours on motors sense total rebuilds by a certified merc mechanic. Also has cockpit and full covers.

If anybody is looking, I would like to sell it. I have a 40 classic and a 488. This thing just sits now.

I would take $40k for it.

Thanks,
Tom
