Have them start the engines before they install them. With the engines sitting around, you could develop and oil leak on your new engines. It happend to me. Just talked to the shop. They say that the boat will most likely NOT be ready this weekend. They are working on a sail boat. I can't wait till my Arneson Drives are on and a Jet Ski tries to jump my wake.

Wow, that does suck about the marina.
On a better note, going to Lake Travis this weekend to meet up with a few other boaters, if anyone is on the water, I will be in Devils Cove more than likely, you cant miss the green and black Nordic heat tied up to a few Sunsations.

I found out yesturday that they have not touched my boat this entire week. It's just sitting there. I have even given them $10,000. I'm pissed off. If you like being told one thing and treated another, you will love this place. I wonder what my legal rights are? I am getting close to calling a lawyer.

Save your money on the lawyer. These shops get big eyes over quotes like this because it looks like a revenue boost. In the long run, I bet most would prefer to change water pump impellers and swap frozen blocks all year long. These big projects turn into a headache for them, especially when the run into the season. Hope you think of a way to get their attention.

Your are dead right. There were complications that was not expected that threw my boat into boat season. Then they had people quit. I had an engine problem and a wet transom that took 3 weeks to dry out with heaters. It was not rotten. I was lucky. I can understand it taking longer, but they went months without doing anything. I am about to go there in the afternoons and work on the boat myself. This Arneson Conversion has become a nightmare and has cost me the entire summer. It better be worth it in the end.

Sorry to hear that. I certainly wouldn't let them finish it. I would consider sending it to someone who has done it before and is a little more passionate about a project like this. I see even the best experts have to call in Rik at arneson for help. I would give arneson a call and ask for a referral.

No one has done it in the Houston area. They have talked to Rik several times. The boat is almost complete. They have done a lot of work and it's been frustrating for them because of all the problems and surprises. It's just getting them to finish. They have lost interest. The backing plate, transmission and drives are installed. Engines are fixed. External water pickups and sea strainers are installed. Hydraulic pump on other engine is installed. Helm has been replaced. Hydraulic hoses have been run from engine compartment to helm, but the fittings have not been connected. All they have remaining is to hook up the hydraulic hoses to the helm, drop the engines in and hook all fuel and hoses up. I would post some pictures, but I can't.
