Yeah, I'm not talking sicko metal flake like an old school Ranger now! Actually I'm meaning something like the color on CMC's post. Can that be done in gel? Something like you'd find on a car.

What a nice coffee break !!! Glad I had a cup holder, LOL Thanks John !! ;)

H2oscene 05-11-2007 08:22 PM

Great, now everyone will see how handy this custom feature is... Get ready for the orders Rick... By the way I was thinking about adding another few for my guests... No more breaks for you though Rick, the deck does not appear to be on the hull but it is definatly in a new spot, you guys amaze me every time I see the place everything is moved.

FX10 05-11-2007 08:48 PM

John,
Should have done one in front of each cleat !! Ya know Coens going to need a place to put his drink. ;)

Superbabi 05-12-2007 04:12 AM

Looks good John/Rick !!!! Hey Rick, I forgot how much you liked being in front of the camera, If you want I can post you walking across the water ( or trying to ) photo ???? ha ha lol lol !!!!! :drink: :D :drink: :D

H2oscene 05-12-2007 08:00 AM

Hey Rick, whats the chance of the boat hitting superfest??????

FX10 05-12-2007 08:22 AM

I think we might just pull it off.

H2oscene 05-12-2007 10:52 AM

Got the need for "AIR" make sure to add some extra duct tape and superglue... Just kicking around the name" KING AIR" for the boat due to the fact I like offshore launches... Three foot glass swells gettin perfectly controled jumps is my thing!!!

Nice vid John. I'm in for next year !!! ;)

H2oscene 05-13-2007 07:56 PM

Yea, I could use a Key West Run, mabey a trailer is in my cards... Cant worry about that now, just need JC to stay focused and from what I have seen the boat could be complete by Memorial Day...

Superbabi 05-15-2007 03:24 PM

John, how is she coming, coen have her rigged yet ??? :D

H2oscene 05-15-2007 04:34 PM

Saw JC at the shop yesterday/monday and he was just installing the wiring for the gauges... I guess the three months to get the boat together is history, because delivery at order time was this comming weekend... All I can say is the deck is still not on the hull and no rigging has been started... Cant even venture a guess as to a completion time... Just gotta wait I guess... Next is to see when the deck gets installed on the hull which is ready as of today...

Thats why coen should get John D ( lightspeed ) back to rigging the Superboats, he is one of the best around.

I think hell would freeze first :D

H2oscene 05-15-2007 08:37 PM

I dont know lightspeed, but a rigger would take a load off of JC... I dont know JC s plans on the rigging position but I do know he could use a shop assistant for glasswork right now which is an excellent opertunity for a talented boat lover to learn the trade... When I was young I would have loved to work in a high-performance boat shop...

I know its his buiness as to why and why not, but sometimes people have to look beyond the past, and move forward once again. JD is a fine rigger. Can Coen handle all the builds coming up ??? :D

H2oscene 05-16-2007 05:33 AM

Lots of activity in that shop, also lots of boat storage jamming up the place... JC could work 7-days a week all summer (lol)or get some help, but it is his buisness - I wish he had it easier... I like JC and dont think he needs the stress of being the one on the line to take care of every detail of the rigging process...

H2oscene 05-16-2007 05:35 AM

Plus it would be easier to push him if there was someone else responsible for the rigging...

I'd agree that JC could use some help in the rigging department.
Is Lightspeed the guy?
Maybe, but I'm sure there are lots of quality guys out on the Island.
Rick has a network I'm sure...

Thats the point, someone has to rig them as fast as Rick can build them.:D

I hope so, from what I understand there are a few more builds coming up !!!!!:D

H2oscene 05-16-2007 05:26 PM

Dont know whats JCs plan is for staffing Superboat but the basic concept would be to get the pieces together

H2oscene 05-16-2007 05:30 PM

To put one of these things in

H2oscene 05-16-2007 05:35 PM

So that it can do this

Superbabi 05-16-2007 06:46 PM

John, I hope your Y2K comes together soon, you will definitely love her !!!! Your Big Blue Merc. Racing motor looks GREAT !!!!

H2oscene 05-16-2007 07:47 PM

Spoke to JC again today and tried to convince him (LOL) that if he was to just get all the parts for my Y2K that are all over the shop and put them together how he would have so much more room in there.... Sounds good to me... Think it will work... I didnt think so...Well theres always tommorrow to try a new tactic... The benifits of living down the road from Superboat...

H2oscene 05-16-2007 07:53 PM

Any input on this prop fot the Y2K

FX10 05-16-2007 11:31 PM

Nice prop, Gary Superbaby, didn't you try one of those ?? As with "Dialing In" it takes alot of props. Gary probably went through 20, with the help of Typhoon. They got him dialed in to the tenth.

John, the 5 blade maximus is a great prop, we tried as Rick said over 20 props between Merc. Racing and Typhoon, the best so far for my motor/drive/hull was the 27" 5 blade maximus that was just reblueprinted by Merc. racing with great results. Also the Y2k does like the 4 blade bravo prop. You really need to try as many props as possible to find the best for your setup. some will give you great cruise midrange, others big top end numbers. I did get lucky when my boat/motor was put together, Merc. Racing came to Superboat with BIG BOX full of every prop ( MERC. ) they make. Good luck :D

H2oscene 05-17-2007 05:16 AM

I dont have the money or a good prop. contact right now to just keep trying different props. so Im trying to narrow it down. I was going to take a shot at the maximus (pitch???) and also the 4 blade bravo which was fine on my 27 Progression but with the steps and the lenght of the boat kinda think more grab with the 5 blade??? I know JC has some opinions too like trying a 3 blade...Your successes with the 27" 5 blade merc finished just confirms my theory though

FX10 05-17-2007 06:02 AM

Oh Nooooo... You said the P word.

TeamSaris 05-17-2007 06:04 AM

Any second Titan will come in here bashing it up.

z.zuperboat 05-17-2007 06:34 AM

Prop did you say prop. Throttle Up has a new Barracuda thats looks interesting. I think they also have a test program.

Pat McPherson 05-17-2007 07:54 AM

I find testing props to be a lot of fun and I continue to try any and all I can get my hands on.
There is a wealth of knowledge on this board when it comes to this subject.
Personally, I have done two rounds of testing with Oh-Zone and his Y2K.
The Bravo One 4 blade is a great prop for all kinds of boats right out of the box and is probably the best place to start.
If you are willing to spend the $$ for a 5 blade, the Hydro P5-X is one that may also work well right out of the box.
From reading about the Maximus, I'd say that modifications to the diameter would likely be necessary to yield good top end numbers.
No 3 blade props on a Y2k.
