The new boat....a 30 CC
#781
I think that the sportmasters want to be very near the surface and the matching props would want to be at/near the surface as well when doing 80+
I think your 30CC can break 82, but the Bravo props are not designed to go 80+ my $.02
http://mercuryracing.com/propellers/3bladecleaver.php
Applications:
* Designed to run 80+ MPH with little bow lift
* For 150 - 300 HP outboards, Vee & air entrapment hulls
...and remove the tinted plexi glass

...clevers are run on only the fastest of V bottoms and are more suited to a boat that benefits from stern lift like a cat(most skaters run some sort of clever variant be it 3 or 4 blades)....the Bravo 1 prop is well suited for running 80+ MPH on a v bottom and i have personally run v bottoms with this prop into the 90s......it offers enough of a balance of bow lift as well as stern lift that keeps step bottomed boats running very level which most step bottoms like (seans included)....
we still have alot more time to spend on the setup on seans boat and remember its not always about top end....there are for sure other props out there that will be faster on the top end by a few MPH but will sacrifice low and midrange performance as well as make the boat more difficult to plane off.....seans boat runs stellar numbers at cruise RPMs and planes off like a champion.....
in the end i think we will wind up settling for the propshafts about an inch below the bottom with the bravos for daily use and maybe a 4 blade ET Style prop for top end at a slightly higher prop shaft height but only testing and seat time will tell what the best setup is going to be....remember this is a one off boat that has never been done before...what works on other boats very well may not work in this application....and it sure is fun testing

........have they done any prop testing on your boat yet?? i am dying to see how it runs.....big boat with torquey verados FTW......

Ahhh ok. That's why I almost always see cleavers on cats.
Cleavers DOES look mean though and I luv the look of sportmasters with cleavers
This is awesome prop class 101 !
My boat hasn't been set up yet I don't think, but will probably get Bravo wheels...the 34 is setup for cruising to get the highest MPG and not necessarily highest MPH so the props will be set up waaay deep.
Def will let you know as soon as I do what the perf numbers are. The speed-hungry side of me hopes she will break 75MPH at wot. The cruising side of me hopes she will get 2.5 MPG at cruise. Both will be tough to attain I think.
what's the schedule for this week on Sean's baaad boy?

Noli your prop choice is waaaayyyyy off

My overall goal is to break 80+, but not lose that midrange and acceleration, then maybe have a 'top end' set of props. But I am loving cruising at 60 mph in the 4200-4400 rpm range, then take the occasional pull and get to 80 mph, will probably eventually want more, but for now...exactly what I want
And with the 4 blades, I am getting a decent low end planing speed, at like 30 mph, important for when the kid is on the boat
Noli- tell ocean to get movin!
