It would be preiced correctly if it was turn key perfect. Since it is broke, I would say a little to high.

Those drives under there look massive.

Progressing. ElSpk1 is taking out for a sea trial tomorrow. Waiting on the bank and the insurance company.

Hoping to get the financials completed tomorrow and pending a good check up from our esteemed colleage, get all the paperwork done. I would love to see it on a truck monday or tuesday. I would love to see it here for next weekend. Gonna take it 2-3 days to get here. Have to see how it works out.

What's funny is that I offered more than 45K last year for that boat and Randy told me to F off.

I talked to another guy that went and looked at it a couple months ago and he said it is rotten now. Been sitting outside for way to many years.

What a shame. WHat a shame.

Whats your opinion on the Optima,is it worth getting and then getting a new charger? Or should I just go with the interstate? One of my batts took a good beating at tickfaw and I dislodged some plates so it shorted out on me.

Ok first of all Buy a bigger boat. That will prevent the dislodging of you platelets.

Second. I have had more than 1 of those frigging gel batteries and they are not worth a penny more than a 79.99 wal mart marine battery. As a matter of fact one of those POS wal mart batteries has been from my first scarab, to the Magnum, to the cat, back to the Magnum, and never had a charger pu on it except when I stored it in the scarab in the water over night just to make sure. Now it is sitting at the fiberglass shop because he "ACCIDENTALY" took it out of the boat while they were working on it.

Or Interstate. There was one of those in the cat when I got it and it held up pretty well also.

I told him gel was junk and interstate was the only way to go .....but hell what do i know:grinser010: I have only gone through 10 batteries in the last 5 years until I got the Interstate:ernaehrung004:

As you know opinion's are like *******s....everyone has one....

I have been using Optima for as long as I can remember. You do not have to have a special charger for them. I have 4 Blue Top's in my boat now. Blue Top's are dual type batteries that can be used for starting and deep cycle, like for stereo's. And they come with a 3 year no question warranty. From Optima's web site:

Facts:
- Batteries are designed to store electricity.
- Batteries do not make electricity.
- Batteries must be charged before any testing is accurate or effective.
- Alternators ARE NOT battery chargers!
- Seldom to batteries discharge / re-charge on their own.
- Deep Cycle batteries will take much longer to charge.
- Battery chargers need to be tested and amperage and the voltage checked manually.
- Sitting a battery on concrete does NOT discharge it!

Battery charging instructions:

* Voltage at the battery terminals when vehicle is running should Be from a minimum of 12.8 volts to < 15.0 volts
* Battery chargers should charge 13.8 ? 15.50 volts,

Never charge a battery at > than 15.6 volts.

We recommend the following charging procedure for a fully discharged 34, 34/78, 75/35, and 6v:

1) Charge the battery A MINIMUM OF 100 amps for 15 mins ( @ 14.5+ volts)
a) Let battery and charger cool for 15 mins
2) Repeat step one at least four times - after letting battery cool 15 mins after each charge
3) Charge at 2-10 amps (trickle / automatic) for 24 hours minimum
4) Test the battery
5) D31 batteries: repeat each step again
