Mcraymond3,
In regards to the question you previously asked about if us d-max guys were worried about our warranties in regards to GM filing bk, yes! I own a 2008 2500 CC/SB D-max and love my truck. I purchased it last year, so before gm went bk. We were looking at the Malibu for the wife (I've always been a made in USA guy) the day before GM filed bk. We were going to purchase the following day; however, when GM announced they were going bk, we wen't and bought her a Camry.

And beware of the conditions of the GM bankruptcy:"People injured by a defective GM product in connection with an incident that occurred before June 1 2009 would have to seek compensation from the "old GM", the collection of assets leftover from the sale, where they would be less likely to receive compensation." That "old GM" will be known as Motors Liquidation Co.

[QUOTE=RaceRPM;2903553]In the interest of educating consumers on "Buying American", the Toyota Camry is #1 on the 2009 American Made domestic parts content ranking, with the Malibu coming in at #3. So congrats, you bought a car that was #1 in Made In America!!!
The Camry may be made in America but the proceeds still benefit a Japanese Company. Not exactly the same as buying from an American company. In my opinion.

Being that 99.9 % of these lawsuits are frivilous, I don't see a problem with that.
You are 100% right mcraymond3.
Patriots buy american.

[QUOTE=RaceRPM;2897802]Wait, Ford just got a $5.9 BILLION Gov't loan!!! Although the term BAILOUT wasn't used, a loan is still a loan, meaning terms and a payback schedule.
According to the June 29th issue of Automotive News:
Ford hopes loan is seen as helping hand, not handout.
"People need to understand that this money that was separated a long time ago, actually before the economic crisis," said Sue Cischke, of Ford. "I hope people do see it as different because it's very different. It's not emergency money.
according to the article, this money is going to be used to develop advanced technologies. Startup electric-car maker Tesla Motors will receive $465 million and Nissan Motor Co. will get $1.6 Billion from the U.S. Energy Department program too. The Energy Department plans additional loans over the next several months to automakers and suppliers. Last year, both GM and Chrysler applied for financing, but their bankruptcies barred them from this round of loans.
Cischke said Ford's loan money will cover projects such as the turbocharging and direct-injection strategy known as EcoBoost and future vehicles including an electric Transit Connect and an electric Ford Focus in 2011.
Chuck, sorry for Hi-jacking this tread. Any word from your dealer?

No problem with all the hijacking. Any interest in this thread is good in my opinion. It is a small world out there and hopefully someone at Ford is watching the interest of current and potential customers. Thanks again to everyone who has read or posted here.

Don't get me wrong, I am also a big fan of buying American. However, a little more research should be done to understand the positive impact a company has on the American people. Even my favorite beverage "Miller Lite" is owned by a South African brewer, and the same goes for the "Bud" fans as well, which is owned by a Belgian/Brazillian brewer.
Yes, sorry Chuck for the hi-jacking. I own a 2000 Ford F250 and it has been a great truck. I hope you find a positive resolution to your dilemma.

Lets not forget that Fiat owns.......
What is most important to this country is how many people are put to work by the company. American manufacturers have not been able to get the "American built" cars to be profitable so they send their manufacturing to Mexico or who ever. Who cares were the profits go. Any American can buy Toyota stocks and any forigner can buy Ford/GM/Chrysler. Global economy says that the only important thing is that American workers are working.

"...you bought a car that was #1 in Made In America!!!" RacerRPM
Yes but the profits go where? My Dodge truck was made in Mexico but at least the profits go to an American company. I don't drink Miller or Budweiser any more. My beer, Old Milwaukee, is brewed in America. What beer do YOU drink, RacerRPM?
