Heres one of many from fordf150.net
Ecoboost really does respond to your driving style. When i reset and drive easily at speed limit i can maintain 14-16 in the city and 20.2 hwy @ 65 cruise control on. But when it comes to going to work in the morning teens no more, i see 10.9 mpg a lot. Yes the mileage sux but darn the fading headlights in the rear view makes it worth it! I have hand calculated numerous times and and stopped doing it because my 1/2 truth-o-meter is usually within a tenth n no more than two-tenths off with poor driving habits, aka heavy pedal.

You get all kinds of ranges fron all kinds of guys.

I posted the mileage I observed.

I dont doubt your 75 1 ton4x4 will get 9 towing.
It will probably get 9 in town too.

What does that have to do with the posters search for a new half ton truck?

Which new half ton would you pick and why?

I record every tank. By hand.

It will do about 12 in town LOL

It has nothing to do with it, Just a comparison

I would buy the new 6.2 GM gas if I was forced to buy a gas pickup

My 2003 duramax does 21 mpg empty I drive it 80 miles round trip daily to work, better milage than my mustang gt with a 4.6, My duramax just hit 164k Its been tuned to 440hp and 920tq RWHP for the last 60k, with no problems. so I see no reason to buy a gas pickup..

If you don't drive a lot a gasser gets the job done much more economically. It takes a lot of miles to pay for the $8k increase in cost for diesel.

Totally agree

IF you can live within a half tons capacity they are pretty affordable and fun to drive- snorting around like little muscle cars.

The other thing is the convenience factor - my

2 Boats
2 Quads
1 Dirtbike
2 Gennies
Toy hauler fuel station

& the truck all use gasoline.

Sourcing multiple fuel types and having multiple fuel containers Yellows reds scattered about in a pickup bed is annoying.

Gas is easy and everywhere.

My RV introduces propane- grrr.

(sort off sour grapes though Id still love a new 80K diesel truck)

I just checked Sydwayz's chart and a 2007 2wd 2500 with 3.73 is rated at from 13,000-13250lbs. A 3.92 would +/- 14000lbs. Personally I find that excessive. Not that the motor and trans can't tow it, but the frame and brakes would not be up to those weights on a frequent basis. I really wouldn't go over 11,000lbs on a 3/4 ton truck a lot if I didn't have to...
