Use something with a twist to your name. You got a custom unique boat, don't use everyone else's name. IMHO.

Got Cigs 10-06-2020 09:53 AM

"Stringer Swinger"

"Tabs on Me"

"Hull Lotta Luv"

VortechSS 10-06-2020 01:32 PM

"Plata O Plomo" seems like an appropriate name for this one.... An Escobar phrase I've always wanted to use on a silver boat. :drink:

Made some resin with chop strain in to fill any gaps under stringers
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...dde237058.jpeg
Figured the chop strain would give it strength
https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...33fffbf0e.jpeg
After I pushed that in any voids I put 3 layers of tabbing on once that cures I’m going to put 2 more of the bigger layer on then wrap the stringers she should be plenty strong 💪

For my engines all ironed out.... going to stay forced induction. Maybe went a bit overboard but it’s will make some ponies !!

frickstyle 10-19-2020 08:43 PM

Overboard? Nonsense, no such thing. This is a Cigarette after all. Just keep buying super expensive parts for it. Part of the fun of a project is that you would never blow all this money at once, it takes time to acquire all the things needed,

Bravo, keep up the good work. Gonna be a fast winter for you!

OldSchool 10-19-2020 08:49 PM

This is an incredible thread, thanks for sharing and it's been fun to watch the progress...Can't wait to see the finished product!!!

Got a trailer I can borrow? Lol

division1 10-23-2020 03:19 PM

Well I thought I would have all the cabin glass work done by end of the month. Well I was again wrong lol so had to bite the bullet and move the shop around to get things in for winter. Every time I feel like I’m getting somewhere I look again and see how for away I am to being done lol it’s pushed against wall.

division1 10-23-2020 05:57 PM

O yea I’ll be working on it!! I was just hoping to have all the glass work done by fall lol

Helmwurst 10-24-2020 08:45 AM

What size is your shop and what kind of lighting is that? Oh, and how many fixtures ? I found a formula by a lighting engineering co that suggest LxWx60(Lumens) divided by the lumens of each fixture. So , for example
40*30=1200
1200*60=72000 lumens
72000/13000=5.5 or 6 fixtures
13000 is the output of some led high bay light I have looked at. I can not even look at them in the store, they are so bright.

division1 10-24-2020 07:11 PM

I can go back and look at the light specs. I have 10 lights there all led and they are extremely bright . Shop is 45 by 55 and it’s prolly the best lightning I’ve ever had. And first time I’ve actually had a large overhead heater lol I used diesel in torpedo for years lol I don’t miss the smell !!! I’ll get the light specs

I was a bite depressed last week when I moved it over to the side with just so much more to do. But after my sons football game today I went out to clean a bit more. My two boys came out and I have to say we spent about 4 hours on it and seeing them work together and helping really makes smile. We made both out side stringers and got them fit. That’s the last of the stringers I’m going to get them glasses in next week and then on to bulkheads there at the age that they can help carry and do things that usually I have to wait until a buddy is free. All in all I had a great afternoon with them!

Made them 2 layers I figured why not over build lol
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...677857bd7.jpeg
Measured from level string line inside then made the pattern

Measured down every foot to get the pattern

division 1 noticed your hoody ....are you in the fire service?......Funny I went to St. Mark's grammar school as a kid played football & pee wee baseball.....best yet, your 2 young boys (I have 2 grown girls) are growing into the best little helpers a dad could use right about now.....Great project & watching!

division1 10-25-2020 07:16 AM

Yes I’m a firefighter at Avon. Love the job and watching them play ball is one of my favorite things to do. I have a daughter she’s 14 she helps sometimes but she into comp cheer and travels the country. They grow up to fast lol.

offshoredrillin 10-25-2020 07:57 AM

thats math they will use their whole life.. plus having the little ones are good for squeezing in areas our old bones cant reach anymore.

Helmwurst 10-25-2020 08:09 AM

Muddy football uniforms !! Is there any other way ?! Hopefully they will become structural engineers, bet they don't teach it that way in school. Pretty sure that if we would have had a big ol fast boat in the front of my Geometry class, I would have gotten a better grade ! (Of course back then, it would have been a 17 footer with a small block.)

division1 10-28-2020 06:32 AM

Lol na why not make it the only sit down center steer topgun in the world ........

division1 10-28-2020 06:34 AM

What really happened is I been wanting to rework me door system I made it all power on really nice rollers and it worked really nice no more rattling around. But I wanted to work some steps in the door like the newer boats so I’m working on that.

division1 10-28-2020 06:36 AM

If anyone is interested I have my roller bearing set up with my door and cylinder going to be selling that stuff direct for 87-99 topgun
