Toe bar washers I’m guessing are just there so the bar and go up and down on the sleeve. Don’t remember the washer stack orientation. Didn’t plan on it being apart 5 years……

How much independent trim travel does that arrangement give your drives before a heim joint wants to bind on the washers? Only reason I ask is the V-hull set-ups on the Konrad site have the tie-bars perched on top of the mounting plate... your set-up looks cleaner, just asking about the possibility of binding/ breaking if one drive had to be fully trimmed out (ie. trailer mode) - or the like and the other was trimmed down....

division1 06-05-2023 07:47 PM

Yea just a mock up run. It has a lot of movement is was set up like this before good looking out though!!! Just excited to see parts going back on

division1 06-05-2023 08:19 PM

And see Dan I can take boat related pictures with out my Wify mechanic 👩‍🔧 😂

Helmwurst 06-05-2023 08:58 PM

I personally would get rid of the Heim joints and switch to Clevis style joints.

I agree. It'll be fine probably through the trim range. But if one was ever trailered up and the other not, I'd guess they'd bind.
Tie bars are Clevis style (double jointed) just for that reason.

I’ll look into those know is prolly the time to change it. What’s the best way to get the drives straight to set the new bar ?

I do a lot of south Florida boating !! Just with the jet boat !

division1 07-12-2023 07:35 AM

So…. Been working a lot on the boat on the weekdays. Spent a ton of time dry fitting all the tabs/ transom assembly’s/ fittings and anything that goes on transom. Wanted to make sure everything for well. Also got the tabs all blasted and powder coated and all the pins cleaned and ready to go back together. Took all the fittings out of steering and cleaned and ordered some new ones. Trim pumps mounted and I have made patterns for all new lines. Been a slow process but it is coming together well!

I'll message you all of his info later today. At work now on my 4 midnights and no phones allowed inside the plant.

division1 07-17-2023 05:46 AM

Thank for the info !
ok so doing final install on transom stuff this week I got new seals for transom assembles. Was thinking maybe a little sealer on the foam seal that touches the transom ? Or just grease thoughts ?

if it’s anything like merc, they go on dry. bellows adhesive to keep the ring in place.

Team Archer 07-18-2023 04:34 PM

we always put a bead of silcone on them because transoms are not that flat.

AllDodge 07-18-2023 04:59 PM

While I have not replaced many transom assembly's the 4 I've done where dry and never a leak

Don't think much of silly cone under water, never last

division1 07-18-2023 08:53 PM

Thanks ! Yea I agree about transoms. I’m not a big fan of silcone on anything under water myself. I did get new seals so In theory they should seal any imperfections in the transom. I was thinking maybe some bellow adhesive? Spent the entire day chasing down some fittings and small odds and ends on the engines.

If your transom isn’t flat…you likely have bigger issues.

division1 07-19-2023 08:34 PM

Spent some time going over engines for final assembly before install ironed out some wiring and oil hoses ect
