Wow, it is looking killer! I didn’t realize there was another gun running around without the liner. Seams there is a lot to gain by doing so!
There’s a few out there I believe. Problem that I have found with the liners is there is just not many places of contact for tabbing it into the hull. Hopefully it runs well lol. Happy the sorry work is coming to a end lol
Thanks for the YouTube posts. Lots of progress. It looks great! LOL were all eager to see the front bulkhead. Will you fit the dash panels, and then both paint and wire up gauges before you install them?
Yes I will get them fit and mounted make sure o have them were I want them and then paint. I will assemble them outside the boat gauges and such) them put the wiring on a few weather pack plugs then install. I’ve already had them in once I have the bulk head made already it’s been in and out a few times for fitting. It was nice having it out and having the cabin open for ventilation when glassing and doing the gel coating !!! I’m real excited to have those pods in and that wrapped up
Can't wait for a ride!!!!!
Yea me neither …………. Spending this week doing body work to the molds getting them all ready for primer and final fitment

Hey ICEDPPL ( Dan) , A little birdy told me you might be thinking of a notch for your flat deck . Reach out if you need help . Been there done that . Your 4/5 drives will love you for it . I have 3 inches of spacers and run the prop shaft 2 &1/2 inches below the deck with 25 pitch props and 3/4 load of fuel 5 people on board at 3000 rpm walks right up on plane and runs 78 mph . Going to take the 1 inch spacer out this winter and see wha effect it has . Cheers RG.
Rick, I don`t want to ruin $hitbirds thread so I`ll start a new one.
Sorry my bad . RG .
Lol no big deal at all I don’t care lol this thread is getting boring anyway lol. Did you see speed improvements with the notch ?
So Konrad has these sweet extension boxes they have all the steering and stuff build in them. What’s your thoughts. Again the boat ran good before . But always heard boxes helped to.
Well.... you've gone this far. My vote would be go with konrads boxes too. :D

Hmm ok I think there designed for the bravo replacement with the trans in box. My trans mounts behind the motors like the factory trs. Wonder if I could run longer input shafts on drives and leave trans we’re they are. Or just leave we’ll enough alone lol

I figured this would be the closest to a baller setup as i will ever have, so i decided i would move my BW's to the box & move engine backward to Bravo location. Had to buy rear mounts for the trans in box, & new tailstocks since the 540 uses larger input shaft. All told was another $3,800. Made my great deal on my Konrads less of a deal. |
Lol I hear that. We’ll I lightened up my cabin or lack there of a cabin know lol so I don’t want to move much more weight back she will be bow proud. I’m going to put her back together the way she came apart it ran real well. Hopefully it will again.
Hi Division 1 , I did see increase speed . Before the notch see ran about 72 / 73 mph after the notch 76 / 78 . I am hoping if I take 1 inch of spacer out and maybe a 26 or 27 pitch prop I will see 80 . But I won’t sacrifice planing for speed . Right now boat runs really well . Let me know if you any other questions . I had a thread on this forum “ How to put a notch in a Flat Deck “ . Cheers RG .
That’s a good increase for a cheap price !!!

I may have over built lol but there sure not flimsy lol https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...d151dd58f.jpeg Hours of trimming and leveling https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...8618001f5.jpeg More hours of body work https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...eb2e02200.jpeg Getting there https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...655e72f19.jpeg We’ll after trimming and mounting they fit !!! Time for final body work. |
looking good....

Looks great! How to do deal with the points where the various dash panels come into contact with either the bulkhead or the points on the port or starboard side. Are those going to be tabbed in with fiberglass, or do you use an adhesive or a caulk to deal with attachment and some of the fitment issues
? |
Know that the trimmed to fit they fit flush to all sides and bulk head so they will mount just like the other factory ones. Cog uses 1/8 pieces of angle bolted to the sides and bulk head then they drill and tap it and use pan head number 3 Phillips headed 5/16 bolts threw the mold. I will do the same except step up to 1/4 angle and use lock nuts
The side panels for the Interior go right up to each pod and follow the snap of them so they will cover the 1/8 gap we’re they meet as well.
So the various upholstery items will conceal if there is a small gap.
Yes they will cover it all up.
With every pic that gets posted, it’s looking better and better! Really excited to see this come together!!! I spy another boat in there. Looks like Judge if I had to guess
Yep lol it’s in winter hibernation. I’m hoping to have all the molds mounted and final body work done thise week. I have the Interior people coming to make side panels and the panels that go on top of the pieces next week. I have also been ordering at the stuff for the pods ( gauges, controls, switch’s and carbon plates. Ext. that way I can get them together.

Ok final fitment done. After lots of trimming and modifications to the actual pods themself they fit Nicely. Door opening is perfect. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...de7ecbf0a.jpeg Added some depth for door clearance https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...456a4714b.jpeg Made it super thick so it wouldn’t be flimsy |
Top quality craftsmanship

Thanks! This new style dash conversion with steps took me exactly a year to do. There was a lot of frustration making it all work and not make it look like it was throw together. I wanted it to look exactly like it came with them from the factory. So making them fit was a long process. Take 1/2 inch off one then I have to do it to the other side to. I wanted them the same distance form the sides from one another. It know that there in and door is sliding on the new tracks like butter and everything lined up good I’m very pleased with it.
