You have spark plugs, we have igniters: http://www.championaerospace.com/products/igniters/
The generator you're referring to is called a starter/generator. It is driven off of our accessory gearbox and is always spinning whenever the engine is spinning. It is used to start the turbine, then when the turbine is up and running, it flips to a generate mode like an alternator. So, basically it is a starter/alternator in one.

Glad to see starting the turbine has grown up over the years. I went to school to get an A&P. We had a couple of T33 each with a J33 jet engine. I don't remember the start sequence, but it was all manual. One day we were out playing with these things and one of the less mechanically minded guys was in the front seat. He did not follow sequence and melting pieces came shooting out of the tail. Red hot and flying. We all took off; figured he was going to kill himself and us. That was fun.
He did manage to shut it down before it came flying apart.
So our next project was take it apart, which meant pulling the tail of the aircraft off.
That was fun too.
Love your rebuild write up; thanks!
