I think his reference to "Bird" is the old floating one. Well I guess that could go either way as well, so lets say it's the boat. |
Might be his own Bird he's referring to.

Here you go guys, she been launched. Saturday, late morning, Morristown N.Y. on the St. Lawrence River. I do believe I have beaten Axa into the creek.

A real happy camper, boat ran like a champ. Made a little token rip going past Singer Castle on the way up to the Bay and raised the GPS recall number by 2 mph over last falls test run peak :D . Have a video of that but can't get it to load. Anyone know how to do that?
Thanks to Axa for the custom embroidered Fountain hat, naturally done by his "Hat Guy", I wore it just for you! |

Proof that it actually did run up the river, a water view of HBW in the Bay, only one way to get this shot over the beak. The welcoming party has sworn to back me up, we were actually there in the boat before the 4th of July.
|
Good for you Pete!! Glad you're liking the new ride. It IS one nice looking Fountain.
Remember though, you've got to put in much earlier to beat us real boaters down on the Pond. :p |

Passed a couple freighters and the thing barely twitched crossing the wakes. Well I've beat myself by better than two months this year. You only got me by a week! 5PM and Rippem are still in a barn, and Axa has a boat with no motors, one motor that runs, and another motor in pieces. I definitely qualify for the most improved launch date award. |

Now I have a question ..... was it the freighters barely twitched going over the waves passing you or was it you twiching while the boat barely twitched over the waves. LOL ..... LOL ..... Just kidd'in ...... Glad to see everything worked out for you ..... Jeff |

Pete,
Excellent! Looks great on the water! Appears Heaters issues weren't totally with his throttle "GUY" after all, number 55 didn't make the Havasu results page on OSS. The Girl smoked all of them, Jenni I believe. |
Yo Mike,
You need to quit squeezing your grips and cleaning your golf balls and get that boat in the water!!! :D |
Jeff,
Did you fix up your platform yet? Dave |

Jeff Hadn't thought of it that way, Bird was first in the Pond, I was first in the River. I like the way you think! :D I didn't notice if the freighters twitched, but we didn't. Met the freighters head on, didn't get to pass anyone all afternoon :(. Not a single Formula on the River. |

I'll even come help you launch, Axa needs to be the last one in this year, don't let me down. I stepped up my program by 2 months, do your part here. I did notice the results seemed to be non-existant. Entered in a few classes, but no laps recorded at all, what is the deal here? Thing just spent time at Mercs X Site being all pimped up for this race, anyone talk to Doug? And that would be "You Go Girl", she does have her chit together. |

Dave who is fixing the platform ..... it went from approx $1500.00 to $2500.00 and counting .... apparently there was some rot in the "silent thunder swim platform" what a freak'in pain in the azz ..... So when somebody says ... "I am just going to hook on these lifting eyes and lift your boat...." "you need to say Fukk you and use the straps like I asked you to orginally....." Anyway how is your day going ???? Jeff |

Much too nice a boat to be running over trees, timbers, and all the other chit that's reported to be making it's way downriver. wholly appropriate location and content for my 4000th post. :D |

Jeff Apparently much better than yours. WTF is this deal all about? I assume some bone head tried to lift the boat by the rings on the silent thunder box, so why isn't He paying to fix it? Aren't there a set of lifting rings thru the transom just under the box? |

Not really all that bad now, Rich has been out a lot and he was saying thursday it was real bad a week or so ago. We basically cruised and puttered, didn't see anything real big. When you see pine branches that are still green you have to wonder who the butthole was that tossed that in the creek. Water is about the highest I've seen it this time of year in quite a few years, and folks are biotchin' about this, some of the same ones that were biotchin' last fall about the low water, makes you wonder. |

Pete - the upper u-bolts are the ones that you could lift with. The lower u-bolts are too far under the platform to lift by. |

Jeff I think he's using a pair of Corona bottles duck taped together to spy on that one from the beach. The brown paper bag money from Guido wouldn't even begin to scratch the down money on that one. Busy figuring all those F&I perks you fleeced out of John Q. Public? :D |

Dave and Gail Thanks! Oh, and did I tell you the GPS recall number was upped by 2 MPH on Saturday as well. That's up 2 running up river from the salt water number from last fall. And by some coincidence it just happened to be right in front of Singer, about where 5PM is to set up shop. :D |

Listen to Bird...He knows something....I don't think it'll cover me yet. Better get in touch with BBlades....You might need it! Is your boat in the slip, or did you pull it? Dave PS: Sunny and 88* in Cancun...Off tomorrow morning for the US. Got to rig the bird! |

Well now you don't know where we started, so plus two might not mean anything, the old high was in salt, this was fresh water. And that's without changing props or anything, just triming the thing right. I want a few more here, and I'm sure I can find them. :D And if not, so be it. The thing is rock solid at speed, more so than the last one even, I'm already a very happy camper. Stock, turn key, reliable ?X? MPH is hard to beat with a stick. Always something faster, but can they do it every day, all day, all season long??? We shall see!;) |

In for the afternoon, then back to the shop. Needs more wax!:p Going to be a trailer boater till Memorial WE. Trailer may be fugly, but loads like a dream. I like this bring it home and tuck it away deal, stays soooo clean. :D Went out sunday after my nieces first communion party and gave her a bath and chamois job, needed to remove the bugs that we impaled with the Beak. Whatever happened to your race boat in Havasu? Looked like it was entered in several classes, but didn't finish any laps in any of them? Did the pit monkeys get lost and end up in the wrong state? |
just to fill you guys in on Havasu.X-Site didnt have time to fix the gas leak.So we decided to leave early and fix it out there. The first day we found our first leak. The squirrel that we bought the boat from had drilled a hole in the top of the tank when mounting the seat.We repaired it fiberglassed it back and put it back together.only to find it leaking the next morning from somewhere else.Back at it we went, found the leak and repaired another.Later that day it was still leaking from yet another spot. Finally we decided to pull the tank out and put in a bladder.Busted our azzes till saturday night and finally gave up.But the trip wasnt a total loss,I got to race with Randy Schluess of Typhoon racing on saturday,We took a 4th but the 1st place boat was 500lbs under weight so call it what you want.On friday I pulled the guys off the boat to go take a couple of bat boats on the poker run for a couple of hours.Helped keep there spirits up.210 boats entered, wow I never seen nothing like it.More bling than you could ever imagine.lots of silicone too! 98 degrees each day and not even sweating.Dont worry guys we will get this boat performing before too long.Cause ya know! Dave's gotta guy!!!!!

Well that kinda sucks. You really can't trust a DIYer with power tools. You do deserve credit for grit and perseverance. |

Looking good Bird, got a few of them myself. Saturday putting her back on the trailer, and getting her all secured for the trip home. Earliest River launch, and maiden voyage, April 26th, 2008. :ernaehrung004:

What kind mileage ya get with that rig?

I'm thinking the new 525 EFIs are pretty good on fuel. Topped the tanks off in Morristown ran to the Bay and back and the gauges didn't move off full yet. Took 25-26 gals per side to top off from about the 3/4 mark to start with. The trip by water is about 30 miles each way, or 60 total, if I got 2 mpg I should have used 30 gals total. I would think I would see that on the gauge. I would have see a drop off full with the 500s in the last boat. Granted we mostly cruised around 3500 @ 55 mph, but did a couple blasts @ WOT for a few miles each. So far I'm pleased with what I'm seeing.

Well another day on the St. Lawrence River. Looked like the rain was going to hold off and the sun came out so we hitched her up and headed for the river. Waddington, N.Y. today, my old stomping grounds.
And my baby likes it rough!!! :D We had 2-3 footers today vs last saturdays 6-8 inch chop. Put another 2 mph on the GPS recall this afternoon. The chitt eatin' grin is getting bigger. And I've got two sets of test props comming this week from BBlades. |
