Speaking of that, Saturday was that day.

Rippem 12-15-2008 08:20 PM

if it snows up on the hill later this week, or over the weekend, Monday the 22nd could work for me/us.

ThirdBird 12-16-2008 05:55 AM

Might have last minute X-mas shopping and preps to do. We'll stay in contact here. Maybe by then my old, wimpy muscles won't be sore anymore. Forgot just how much this sport beats you up.

Hot Stepper 12-16-2008 06:45 PM

Lots off cool up grades I see, myself I've pretty much stuck woth stock other than the 1 1/2 inch paddle track and an slp exhaust on mine. Which of course I noticed took away from the top end as Cheryl seems to have the edge at WOT:mad:. But I make up for it in the turns and rough stuff:drink:

Hey Bird if yoiu changed your Avitar we would have a true sleddin forum going here:drink: at least until Pete and Dave chime in :party-smiley-004: I know there out there somewhere in cyber world lurking in keep track of us.

that snow I mentioned is happening tonight!

we might be in for Thursday after all!

braaaap braaaaaap!

EDIT: nope...it's toast on the hill

peruse some of these threads and the latest posts by the boys who make it happen (when Mother Nature allows it that is!)

more blowdowns and more water than the week before last. Near total loss of cover in many places. What a mess.
Google earth BC and follow the roads and trails out from there...incredible clarity and LOTS OF WATER!
It'll take a couple of weeks of cold and snow (hopefully cold first) to put it right.

Oh well...I needed to re-polish my tunnel anyway...

http://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/nsa/index...gion=Northeast

Here's a better website for snow depths and it's updated daily. I use it just about everytime I get ready to hit the trails. It only gives you the snow depths and not trail conditions so for that I hit a couple of other sites

Polish the tunnel??? You must be bored

yea I'm aware of the NOAA stats online.

they are usually a day or two behind which can be a lifetime in these parts where the weather changes so quickly

for trail conditions I get with the guys who run the groomers and others who live up there. They are online most everyday on any one or more forums with that day's on-the-snow reporting...just gotta know where to find 'em. ;)

TC
HCS
and the SnoPals website...
mostly

yes- tunnel polishing...
I'm not the only one with such a problem.

took my chaincase back apart today for a closer inspection of all the link plates and pins
new torque and cotter pin top
new torque and red locktite bottom
and some Redline 75-90

Hot Stepper 12-19-2008 05:33 PM

Not trying to rub it in toooo much but we just got 12 inches of the that sweet white fluffy stuff. Took the sleds out for there first run of the year :drink: With any luck it'll be headin your way....Hope you all enjoy

Rippem 12-20-2008 05:00 PM

thanks.
Merry Christmas to you too! :drink:

it'll start here by 7am. 8-10" here tomorrow and "heavy snow" in the afternoon...and that's 15 mi. north of the "snowbelt" off the lake.
tomorrow night, lake effect sets up and "significant accumulations" are predicted, which on the hill usually gets measured in feet.
following some nice single digit cold, and remaining cold for days...the season is in!!
35 mph winds with 10* cold tomorrow and heavy snow
yeehaaa!

Just been busy with other chit and being a non-sled head here, can't help you turn this into a sleddin' forum. I understand Axa has been busy with his Holliday Greeting cards.

Honestly don't even know what a "braaaap braaaaaap" is. An odd noise made by something not working with all it's cylinders?

Speaking of lurking, was at the Mall in Watertown yesterday and ran into your Mom and Michelle, as well as Alan and Shannon. None of them appeared to have a bag full of sled accessories so I think you may be off the list this year.

As for the braaap braaaaap, easy way to describe, find a local snowmobile hang out on the hill and just hang out and listen. I think you'll figure it out real quick.

As for the lurking in the mall thanks for the heads up on the lump of coal:mad: I guess that explains why I didn't here from anyone this weekend they were selfindulging at the mall and not thinking of me:rolleyes:

Ok...how about some boating?

Here is a little more video from this past summer!

Biloxi Pt.2

Select the Biloxi Part 2 video.

No, we are not in last...and Yes we did pass a couple other boats. This is a little more of what it's like in the race boat. Watch the other SVL's.

Merry Christmas to all!

Thank you Jeff, merry Christmas to you and all the rest of our boating buddies.

Still have to pack stockings for our girls tonight (yes, we still do it and they're both over 24 years old). Waiting for them to go to bed. Julie goes nuts over stocking stuff, each stocking has like 200 bucks of stuff. Stupid but fun.

On my list is a new Cobra track, new helmet, new jacket,,,,,,,,,, Won't get any of those. Guess I'll have to be my own Santa!!!!

Hope it's all good for everyone.

Rippem 12-25-2008 05:06 AM

Staci and I did 130mi. Tues.

NICE. A fresh foot of powder previous day/evening. Relatively fast for half packed powder. No water.

Dropped at BC rode down to West Lyden for mid-day wings at the Milkhouse Tavern. Had to thank Mike of Mike and Jackie fame from Skeneatlas (sp).
They came along shortly after she hailed me on the radio...I said "are you stuck" she says "come back and look..."
I'm thinking this oughta be good
the fanner was on it's side sunk two+ feet down in a 4-5' hedgerow drift...
Thanks Mike!
with his help had the hair dryer puss-mobile out on the trail in a couple minutes
I applauded her though for trying to have some hot-dogging fun and follow me off the beaten path!
then down to Constableville for some fuel with lone rider "Josh" who says "all my buddies are broke losers and can't afford to ride anymore"
Josh goes to JCC here in town and is from Pulaski?
Josh seemed like a good kid.
Riding a 'Poo 600 Edge with 8400 kliks on her!
Josh hung at C-ville for some chow...

Staci and I rode back across the hill to BC loaded up about 5:30

I will say the mods are working good!
Changed drive ratio and some clutch parts and didn't loose any top end!
Nothing but low/mid gains!

Some moguled-up corners later in the day.
Ian did a nice job on my valving...
less negative camber and a little more toe-out...
Just throw her through there!

I threw out a few hints myself. Think I may be in the same BYOS position as you.

Our best to You, Julie, and the girls. Samantha says to give yourself a big Holliday kiss from her!!!

Not bad....by the way I just did the math that comes out to a whoppping 21.428571428571428571428571428571MPH:drink:

Rippem 01-06-2009 06:16 PM

including
gas stop
pee stops
one vomit stop (me)
one belt stop (me)

taking all that into consideration...

Sounds about right, No bar or food stops? that makes for a realllllyyyy long 7 hours. Reminds me of a 20 mile trip with about 15 sleds with a few slow pokes and really crappy trails

I think it's pretty simple here, the shock valving Expert forgot to factor in breakfast.

Could be diesel fumes though, forgot about that. Either way, not good.

Come to think of it, at one time there was someone on here who claimed to be a Pukin' Expert.
I'll give it some thought and see if I can remember who that was.

well I'm not that expert,
but I can tell you you that the Imron on my Formula passed the vomit test with "flying colors". :ernaehrung004:

word has it someone in the neighborhood puked over the side
and had some paint work done post season

thankfully reports have it the GF saved the cabin upholstery with her quick thinking and accurate assessment of the situation. :cheer:

Well if you have barf proof Imron, good for you. But I'm sorry to dissappoint you sport, you once again have your facts a little twisted. Your new BFF might be able to set you straight on the subject as the GF, as you refer to her, set him straight when he started this chit a while back.

To coin a phrase.................."Bite Me Barf Boy".

axapowell 01-08-2009 10:10 AM

Wow...here we go again with the puking. That seems to strike some nerves. Gonna to have to go review the instant replay tape from the boathouse/ drinking cam and look for proof! What's the big deal anyway? It's not like we ALL haven't fed the fish before!

The more you deny it the more guilty you look (even if you are not). Check with the GF again for review, maybe she shouldn't have been talking the next morning before she checked with you. And stop putting words in my mouth.

Dave

Well we all had a little break this past weekend. HBW Boaters Weekend and the same for the Bonnie Castle group, always good to see all our good boating friends :drink:. Had a good time, though the turnout was not quite as big as in years past, the hard core good folks did turn out to support Mark and Wendy. They do this every year for their customers / boaters and I feel it's kind of an insult to them to not make the effort to show up and support their efforts. Your Mom was there, as well as Alan, Michelle and Shannon. Over at Bonnie they were saying we, the HBW folks, might as well drink their free booze saturday afternoon cause they were for sure going to eat the free shrimp cocktail and goodies over at the HBW open house later. Even the "Porch" was opened up for the evening.

Sea Rays new 43 Sundancer was in the showroom and had a big crowd hanging out on it, as well as a couple seemingly serious players doing a little "negotiating" on it. What a F'n boat, not a Fountain, but Sea Ray did one he!! of a job on this piece, one of the nicest designs I've seen from them in some time.

Hey pete talked to Mom this past weekend and she said you said Hi. Hi back at you and Sam from Cheryl and I. So did Mom make it to the porch and show them how it's done?
