I agree they definitely are nice.

I had those cleats on my 37AT, and LOVED them. They confused the hell out of most people. But given a choice, I'll have them on every one of my future boats.

They pop straight up, I will take a picture and post it.

Very cool! I like them!
|
They are definitely nice. Since I'm a little bit clumsy one less thing to trip over.
|
Lol. I feel your pain. Boat looks killer!

Outside with the glass installed!
Looking awesome! Heading to the water? |
Yes sir
|
Cant wait to see the boat! We'll be up tomorrow for the run in a white/red 42' at the Burlington marina.

With every detail , and added option, keeps getting better, and better. Great Build. Great Boat
👍 |
Was a real treat running out front with you guys! Love the boat... If the helicopter had been on that run we would of had a hell of a Fountain Powerboats Christmas card. The two 42s and the 47 running balls out was unreal!

Rob yes it was fun. We have alot of good video of the run will post a link to it when it gets uploaded. Some real good ones of your boat.

Wow awesome! I got a couple on my phone but nothing very long, tough to stand, navigate, and video haha. We will try some Go Pros next time. The red/white '42 is my good friend Ethans, and Alburgh, VT will be its home port. We will see ya again! Rob |

Thanks for the kind compliments. We really love the boat also, definitely my favorite one I've owned. Really love the way it runs, it will cruise endlessly at 105. Not to bad for a 525 efi based engines. We are working on an upgrade for next winter. We would like to go play with the outboard cats. Dustin Whipple did the tune on these engines, and talking to him I believe with the new gen 5, 3.8 liter blowers we can easily achieve what we need. I want to retain all the mercury smartcraft systems, and this setup will allow that. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who is using this new system.

I think you need a bigger tow rig.............:D.............pretty sure bencini231 ( Chris ) is building a pair of those new 3.8 Whps

One of our concerns this past summer was low charging voltage. Going over video that we took we hardly saw above 12.5 volts, even at higher rpm. The boat was outfitted with a battery isolator from the factory. Both alternators were wired directly into the isolator them from there off to the 3 batteries. Doing some research I found out that these isolators rob between 1 to 1.5 volts. So we did away with the isolator and wired the alternator up direct. Used a smart solenoid to separate batteries.
results are 13.8 to 14.1 volts to batteries. The smartcraft did throw a low voltage code a few times. So this should solve any issues. |
Sea Dog replaced the battery isolator. There was already one in the boat for the stereo battery.

It is a Peterson, with a wix 51069 filter. Mike cnc'ed the mount plates for them.

Been working on a new fuel system. One with the capability of supporting whipples. Its important not only to achieve your pressure and flow but also maintain it on long pulls. Its recommended to run a 3/4 inch pickups with -12 line to water separator then -12 to pump. Also keeping pump no higher than the tank and also as close as possible. So we will be designing new mounting plates for the water separator and fuel pumps to be mounted on forward bulkhead. This will keep everything close and low. When imco built my tanks I had them use 3/4 inch pickups. When choosing filters make sure they can handle the flow and still achieve your needed micron rating. Then make sure your filter head doesn't restrict you down on flow. I run Caterpillar water separator so we are having to modify a peterson head to work with the filter thread. I'm going to use a Weldon pump. I probably will get this done before this summer so I can try it on my n/a engines.
|
Kwright, do you have a rough idea how far forward you had to move you engines forward for the 6s and trannies vs bravos?
|
I don't have exact measurements but it is around 8 inches. Also I have the m series transom assemblies, not sure if they are different measurements than the old 6 style.

New Peterson water separator head with -12 input and outputs. Caterpillar water separator, 10 microns. 320 gph. |

Ouch!
Did it at least break clear or did it smack/damage anything on the boat when it let go? |
