I always wondered technically what the term crosslikned meant as well. I hate to say it but i thought it was the bonds that were made in the scores in the foam. Ya know . . . . making a little bridge in there lol.

Tell ya something else i didnt know, till ya put up the photos of the canoe being dropped off the roof of the building, that Airex had been around so long. Most of my experience has been with repair rather then construction though. As i have been building more and more stuff its good to have access to a pool of knowledge.

Steve heres a little something i played with a few years ago. I took a piece of scored 3/4 inch foam (cant remember what kind but i think it was divinycel). I cut it into long pieces one block width wide. I then ran a piece of 45/45 bi in and out of the strips and bagged it with a piece of 45/45 on both sides with epoxy. it was very rigid compared to my control piece.

kinda like this, think i may try infusing it with my new pump

Dave they cross link the PVC molecules with Urethane so you get the good heat properties BUT the trade off is the break here Nature of the PU Foams.
