Look at this shot of Ermis. I can just imagine the jaws dropping when this black-hulled beast blasts by all those displacement yachts at 60 knots.

The black hull and low-profile single level superstructure just say "I'm fast and you're not" lol. The only other boat that big that can run those speeds is John Staluppi's TWINE and it has almost twice the horsepower.
Cat ,They use a hydro mat for testing the new Panels, that Boat is way cool look at that monster carry the bow and forefoot!

What's a hydro mat and how is the test carried out?

Here is another article with more pics of the yacht at speed and some interior pics. As you might guess, all materials are chosen for their light weight;

Cat that boat is an eye opener ,they were real smart choosing to go that route with the construction and avoiding the nasty circle of huge power and everything that goes along with it. Here is a little on the Hydro mat.

Steve what does cross link mean and what are the differences? It sounds like you are saying to not use crosslink for things like bulkheads and stringers?

Steve I'm glad you enjoyed reading about Ermis2. I take it you had not heard of the boat before this? I have two articles in two different yachting magazines that I have saved which go into much more detail about the construction. The reason 2.2G was chosen as the benchmark impact loading figure was not only its Mediterranean home waters but worldwide as well.

If you look at the impact testing there is cross linked and the two linear foams the Corecell A 400 and A 600 then My old friend the Airex in the case of lets say divinnycell they cross link PVC with isocyanates you get a higher working temperature but trade off is brittleness which you do not want in a highly stressed boat structure.
