Ben Kramer to be released!?!?

[QUOTE=tommymonza;4205084]From a Original Quote by Mr Saccenti
In 1982, I brought the Kramer’s into Apache as my partners, sold my interest in Hawk Marine Power and absorbed Race Headquarters, its crew and all its equipment into Apache. The first order of business was to produce the baddest wave buster’s money could buy. Since the tooling for my new 39’ offshore was still months away from completion, I went to the King himself, Don Aronow, and made arrangements to purchase a new 41’ mold he had just completed. The first boat out of the mold was blue and tan and Benny called it “Warpath”.
Ok I just figured out who is in possession of the 39 mold that Mr Saccenti mentions that he was in the process of building for his own company before partnering up with Ben and buying the infamous 41 Apache mold from Aronow.
That mold he speaks about was the mold that was stolen and recovered is now back in the hands of Banana boat company who bought it from him.
Well done Tommy........now the rest of the puzzle is right there between the lines, look closer and you will see.....

Was the 41 mold that Don had sold or leased to Apache and was that mold any really that much different than a 38 Cigarette at the time or just a little longer ?
Was the 38 Flatdeck Cigarette in production yet?

Tommy.....so many questions so little time, focus!!!
If someone took a 39 like Elswick and Martin and Trotta ran and stretched it and made a mold, it might turn out two feet longer.
Flatdeck 38's were just a 39 footer like above mentioned and made in a blocked down mold. The deck, since there was no mold for it, was just a flat deck race deck from the 36 .......that had the walkways cut down to fit and then they glassed it to the narrower 37.5 ...not 38.
Incidentally the throttleman for that new 37.5, which at some point in the future would be known as the Top Gun, was none other than Mr. Saccenti
Once the stern of the boats was accepted as the best running surface, they cut in front of the cockpit and added the new length in there. Presto changeo and you have a new model. And the world will forever question what happened.

I think it was more of a I put in x amount of dough and you put in x amount type of thing. Parn already had his 41 at the time BTW I loved Ancestrial Spirit. I think WW was for sale at the time and Vorce was going to "broker" the boat and that is how WW got caught up in the mess. I again can't remember all of it but that is the basics of it. Parn and Doug are very cool guys and it really sucked for them

You gentleman from the Golden Era of Offshore are a absolute treat to have on here. Your knowledge and comprehension of the history is irreplaceable.
Love the Stories. Thank you
Few more questions if you feel up to it.
Was the 39 mold that you bought from Mr Saccenti also just a stretch of a 35 cigarette but maybe stretched in a different area of the hull as far as stern to bow ?
Also was there any 39s built from Mr Saccentis mold before he sold it to you?
