Getting a home in Cape Coral and have a 34 Nortech which I posted on here. Was wondering
if there are groups of Nortech owners in the area. Where does the Florida keys trip start from. We will be new to boating in the Florida area. Always did our boating on the chesepeske bay. Thanks for any info

My wife and I bought the 2020 340 Nor-Tech with quad 300 V8s in May and absolutely love the boat! It has amazing acceleration and handling and rips out of the hole. No signs of being stern heavy- if anything I had the boat overtrimmed when I passed you GatorMD! When you fire up 4 (!) V8 engines with the sport exhaust open and it roars to life that makes it for me--I wanted to be on the new V8 platform.
The truth is you can't go wrong with any of the Nor-Techs they have the best design/build quality and performance in the industry and have great customer service to back it up. For us we wanted something that ticked off the sport boat factor and can haul the family. We also have three kids 3,4 and 6 and it fits the bill perfectly. We have had up 3 families (15 people-mostly kids) and still had plenty of space yet it fits in easier at tight docks and slips that 5 more feet would be that much tougher to get in or not fit in at all. I love the 390 as well-especially with the 2nd row seat option-- but for us we have plenty of space and I prefer the look and overall muscle/sport boat feel of the quad 340!

I agree. I am a sterndrive guy and before we purchased the boat we have now I test drove a 34 CC Nor Tech. I was in love with the boat until we drove it. This boat had 450s on it and was fast but the persons sitting on the outside seating on the bench seat was a scary ride for sure. No armrests to hold you in. Then we slowed and turned the boat around and went the opposite way we just came from and the props were blowing out just going over a small wake. So I guess it depends on what kind of boating/family activity you are planning on but based on that ride and the type of boating we do It defiantly wasn't for me. Defiantly not sh?tting on Nor-tech as they are an awesome boat company.

This is awesome feedback TTLambo...thank you. Curious how the top end and mpg change when going from triple 300 V8s to quad 300 V8s? Not sure we really need the extra top end, but the acceleration and idea that the boat has more power for when you have a lot of people on board is appealing. Also curious to learn what Mercury has planned for the new 300Rs they appear to be close to announcing. We have a build slot now and currently thinking triple 300 V8s, but could be convinced to go with quads! One question, how is the back transom space / ability to get on/off swim platform impacted with quads vs. triples on a 340?
SilverTT, I dont have any first hand experience on the the triple 300 V8 340 boat, I believe I read low to mid 70s but don't quote me. Where as the quads low 80s. One of my good friends has a triple 300 I6 Verado and its realistically mid to upper 60s when we are out. That boat is a 2013 and is one of the reasons why I bought a Nor-Tech - it is in such good shape after 7 years, the quality really shows when you look at the shape and condition of the older Nor-Techs is really impressive.
Regarding getting on the boat from the stern its tight back there for sure with 4 engines but its no big deal- my whole family has no problems same with our guests, although one of my wive's friend had a wardrobe malfunction with her bikini, wasn't such a bad view lol! Maybe that is one area where the 390 with the dive door would be nice, but personally its not something that's a big deal to us. I also really like the club sport seating that closes the rear of the boat off with little kids that is a huge plus for us and adds the extra seating.
I personally think the extra money for quads is worth it over the triple 300s, the acceleration general badassness and uniqueness is awesome! Regarding the 300Rs --that is the only thing I would change on the boat, I would love to have the extra 400 rpm and the sportmaster lowers would be great for ultimate top speed but mercury doesn't build the 300R with the AMS midsection and the verado style powersteering/trim. They are supposed to come out with it but I certainly would not give up a season of boating waiting for them!

Orange quattro I completely disagree. Which 450 340 boat were you on? I know for sure there are no quad 450 340s. The only 450 340 Nor-Tech I know of is a triple 450 boat that is in Canada. I had put in an offer on his old 2016 Triple 400 boat, beautiful boat!. I can tell you that I have absolutely zero issues with blowing out on my boat. Absolutely zero, granted I will say that my engines are not as high as some that I have seen. I have seen some with two bolt holes exposed above transom, the top of the engine brackets are about level on mine. If you want to rig the boat for ultimate top speed you just have to drive it appropriately. I probably could pick up some top speed by raising them but the acceleration and handling are so awesome as is I don't want to mess with it! I feel very safe while operating my boat with my family and Nor-Tech Hulls are some of the best and safest hulls in the industry and certainly have a proven track record to show for it!

Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but any of you NT owners have experience with the type of cover that looks like spandex and it is stretchy? I saw it on the site here on a Nortech. I have a photo but need another 4 posts before I can add the picture. Would like to get some information / price quotes?
We have a 340 NT arriving late Summer and think this may be the best option for us as we plan to dry dock the boat and would like a one piece "easy" cover to install that is wind resistant and does not require 300 snaps to put on / take off. Any advice or even pointing in right direction would be helpful.
