Default Hinged seat

We hinge the entire seat forward and the down. We have step plates over the batteries and the 1st stringer of the engine compartment is cut down a little, providing great access to the engine bay.The entire seat can be removed easily by just unscrewing the piano hinge from the seat base. Bud

Here is a pic of the back seat & hinge.
Mark - Bud,

Nice Set up with the hinged rear seat,, any idea how the strength is affected with engine bulk head hindged, and removed across the top?

Thank you
jim

Because it was a racing Maltese,no cockpit liner, flat floor, additional cross floor rib bracing and came came from the factory like that do not notice any flex. Bud

Jim on my race sport were removed the back seat when we put the Lil Smidgen race hatches on her. Being my Mag would be raced we added a aluminum c channel tieing the sides together. It would not be hard to add a brace that you could remove when needed. This pic's shows the c channel we added.

The Mag made it into the water today. I was a little nervous that with the drives raised 3 inches that it would be a little hard to get on plane, NOT!!! I ran it for about 20 minuets with no problems. One of my concerns was the fact it was not running a thermostat. With 60 degree lake water temp the engines temp did get up to around 135 degrees so I did run it all the way out. Bud you were right this Mag flies for what it is. Many who thought this ebay Mag was beyond saving, this test put that Idea to rest. Now the fun begins to restoring this classic Mag.

Mark,

Thank you, i thought a removeable brace from side to side would help. I re-inforced my engine bulkhead with glass when I got my Sport, as i was told that was the area that they would crack, not really sure if that was needed or not?

Great about getting your Sport wet today , nice feeling when you get back in the water,, and as you said,, now the fun can begin

i know you will keep us posted on your progress..

Thank you
jim

Default Mark your Mag

Always a problem when you recommend a boat to a friend...however Roger Munn was behind you on this one ...not to worry. It would be nice to let Allie the previous owner know,he has asked Roger how it was going. Bud
