Back then we all had a problem with breaking the props loose to get on plane.[ now we ventilate]... Before the car trans Bob would trim the drive into trailer position to get prop to spin, then slowly trim in. Most of the time the u joints would break. Mike [nocig] good thing you don't have to do all this stuff NOW to get that Magnum on plane.

You aint kidding mark.............But it does sound like it would have been fun to drive........

Any of ya old guys that are familar with my boat remember what kind of speeds the single engine mags saw back then....I ask because mine seems awful fast for a depp x demension heavy boat...

No, i am going to make them.....I am just trying to find the cheapest route.....I have someone to tig weld them i just need two 3ft pieces preferably 5in....

You Run Both Sides Into One Big Collector, All The Seahawk Boats Ran Them, Your Formula Cars Use Them. Any High Rpm Engine Benefits From Them. We Used Them On Vinces Rollin Thunder Cat

Hey guys was there dif TRS out drives on the magnums is there not 270- and 280- that was marked in them and what do the numbers mean and what was better

Len there are 3 typ's of drives, the Tr was used on SeaRay typ boat's, using a big alum prop, Trs are used for performance use like your Magnum, and the Trs speed II for racing Back In The Day, they are longer so you have to raise the X dimension, but parts are getting hard to get.
Volvo had a 250, 270, 280 drive's, the higher the number the newer the drive, a 280 Volvo would be better than a 250 Volvo drive. With the Trs Merc, 280 meant 280Hp smallblock, [330], 330Hp bigblock 454cu , ect.
