If you can wrench on a Mag you can do almost anything.

She might have had too much rocker, but you keep her under control. This is one of my most favorite pictures of a Lake St Clair race.

Len, I made the dash one pice, and into a center steer, that also worked as a wind faring. Here are shots at the 1983 Detroit race, and it's non flashy black small block chevy's. Here also is a pic of the Mag and the dash after I sold her to Dan and Joe.

I liked the center steer much better even as a pleasure boat. Charge It was the former SHIP ON IT owned by Bob Moore of the RACE ROCK fame. SPIRIT was originally Li'L SMIDGEN.

Thanks, i love the look of the 3 man bolsters and the full dash across the helm... sorry i thought charge it was the same,
there the only two boats that look to have a little dif bolster seat style, if you look at the spirit and charge it.. the left and right sides of the arms rests on the bolsters are shaped unlike the rest they come down and then run stright to the dash, instead of just droping right down.... do you have any pics of the seats and dash of spirit

That cockpit layout and color-scheme are simply awesome!! What speed did you see with that boat?

To run in APBA P class back in 1983 you were limited to cast iron exhaust, and intake manifolds, & low compression. Our back yard engines only made about 400hp so speeds were only 70 to 72mph. The best IO boats at that time ran 75+mph with higher X dimension and more hp.
When I sold her to the Chemical Reaction team in 1986, the first race they enterd they Won. The Mag was untouched, as I had run her as a pleasure boat for 2 years before selling her to Dan & Joe.. In there first race in big Lake Michigan water she Rocked.
