At the shop 5-5 monday through friday nobody said this stuff was easy. But in all seriousness bud your askin for a class 8 now and part of the logistics you may not understand is what it takes to put on an event with 6 or 7 classes each class requires a prize purse, not to mention saftey assets being on the water all day, adding 2 new classes would most deffinitly require a 3 race and sometimes 4 a day schedule, for instance you could never but that slow of a class on the coarse with anything other than SOB and 6 making OPA extend the day to 4 races, its just not in the picture, plus inboards have classes already. This is racing, doing 55 or 60 in an inboard boat is something you can get a couple of your buddies together and do every weekend, and like ive stated before the complaining about cost isnt needed cause my first two seasons i battled with Cotner Trailer/Joker with a stock 496.

A lot of these can be had for 5-7k pretty close to race ready.
Im really excited to watch this class come together. One guy is running a 22 Redline and already has a sponsorship for it. Very cool
Are Foreign makes allowed... if yes boats like Phantom 21 (UK), Argo 21( FIN) etc with a proven track record comes to mind.

Hey man no biggie sometimes people dont understand what it takes to something so minute as add one class. This sport really is a struggle for every little thing you gain.

Hmm the way I see it you guys are doing a class where all the U.I.M. 3C monos will fit... enter the Batboat 23 with a 200Xs and it can hang in there easily on the 65 mph bracket...
Raced myself against one (C-11, Late great Ian Stirling) at the 3C Europeans 09 ( the last link C-25 Cat @ 1.30) and sure it gave us a run for our money.

Can those boats handel a ocean race and stay together? Are they built strong or paper thin for weight? They should be a blast to watch.
