Yes Heath, that is the boat You can see in this picture how the bilge is smooth. We were trying to get some more info from him on how he did it be he disappeared off the map.

I tried to find the pictures of the transom and bilge but they don't show up anymore . this is the thread where the picture was ( Just wanted to share this pic... ) but no pictures. Is there a way for the admins to pull up pictures from old threads?

I emailed 38KV on his boat. With the 750's his boat did 85 mph, but he said that his drives were 2" too deep. They were at 1" below and he felt that 1" above would have been better.

As for his bilge, I believe he glassed in 1" thick coosa board in place of the grid structure. I may be wrong on the thickness. I will say this, the only way to do that correctly is to completely grind out the old structure. It's really lumpy down there, it would take an enormous amount of work to get it flat enough to bond in those panels.

How much power and what drives do you have? Any other pictures of it?

Have you had a chance to start your restoration? Any pictures of your boat?

i remember seeing that pic and just kinda shaking my head, did a quick calc and that transom would be roughly (and needlessly) about six hundred pounds. . . . . goes down in my memory as one of the most pointless mods i've ever seen done. . . . so many better ways to do a transom then that
