Start out with 250lbs and keep going in 50 lb increases at a time.
Something has to change by bringing your CG forward. Hate to
say it but you will probably need a gas tank change eventually.
It's just in front of the motor and too high causing you to be too
top heavy. Just my 2cents worth. George
me to, sand tubes 60lbs 3 bucks #=480lbs =24 bucks, I was hoping Biggus would come down with a few props, its warmer here then in maine.Gerry wingles to much when he was bouncing from the bed to the roof on the test run. I should of went up there hahaha..

Random thoughts...
DRIVE:
How much more does the Konrad Ace got over a bravo?
It is also 8 inches back off the transom.
BW transmission in the ext.box

ENGINE:
10-71 Blower
intercooler
Biggest coolers money can buy.

Anyone wanna take a stab how much more weight over the original setup?
winner gets a ride with me, I'll say 300lbs up by the bed.or 480lbs by the door. boxer has his tank under the back seat, so its lower and a foot infront of mine. cause its a single. the saber singles with tanks in the floor have less bow lift = deep drive for leverage.I kept mine where it is since the drive was high. coolers are big haha

On another note, I'm pretty sure Art's boat is the lightest 28 that Saber built.
I sent him a pm last week, but never heard back. he had 900hp not sure if it was dynoed or not. his running about 83. looks like he used 2 b1 props and a px5. this is why I want a p5 to try. Bret at bblades said it could make a world of different. but he has no p5s for testing. boats well built, the glass guy up north been around custom stuff alot. said this boat was done real nice lay up. I still think its a 90 to 100 mph boat with this power once its dialed in.

change your name to sand man, hahaha. the drive # is about 172/ box about #25lbs/ tranny60 to 70 lbs. if that WE PASSED IT to each other since it didn't fit with the motor. its about 300lbs hanging off the back and in the end I think the motor will need to be moved 6 or 8'' new tank in floor drive height 4'' where its at now. its funny how the y2k superboat with 7ft beam ran just as fast as a b1 boat and no moving anything. I should call mgd and ask what prop they used. now I can't sleep oh my bother inlaw is stable but still in icu. but looking better.

I would be glad to climb in mine tomorrow (sunday) and take a rough measurement of my factory tank locations.. They are either 53 or 56 gal a piece.. Not real sure what most of you guys have for tanks, but I don't think mine are much if any larger that what most of the 28's have in them.. I know my rear bulkhead is a bit forward only due to the shorter cockpit & slightly enlarged engine compartment.. So I would be glad to measure off the transom, I know I have atleast 1 access plug to the front of the tanks near the entry of the cabin..

I have no idea where the center of gravity was on my boat before I got it and when it was rigged & running like it did, but I have no doubt it was a runner & had to be azz heavy at the same time... Regardless they are totally different animals as are most all hotrods

Not trying to give out advise ect.. but as I said I would be glad to measure out the location of my tanks which should give an idea of the center of gravity in relation to some of the other boats, twins, singles, bravo v/s tranny boat ect.. I just know somebody mentioned whether or not you guys found out the center of gravity on the #5 boat..

Wish you guys the best & have a safe run tomorrow !!

time for bed, I've sniffed allot of paint lately

jeb I thought that last week after the drive heights made no different. said that to the boys on the dock about moving motor/tank. next sand bags to see if tank needs to be moved. these boats were built with the tanks behind the seat for balance and run good with b1 drives singles. twin boats run wider strakes and chine and gas tank between seats floor.bottom of boat has rocker about 8'' back I still think a stearn lifting prop might level the boat out.worst case next year I have to install new gas tank in floor grand, then cut out old new tank repair bulkhead move 4'' other wise my headers will need work another grand.bottom not worried about now. if its straight after the 6 or 8'' to the front. then just grind lay some glass build up sand paint easy. if its more space then yes about 3 grand for a pro to go over it. I hope its a prop and new tank in the floor only. Iwas real close in doing that too. so I would of picked up more room for the blower. theres props without defuser rings longer hubs and these all play with the ride boat gets on plane real easy. I''ll post after tomorrow.
Thank God English is not your second language
