More done today, spent time fitting the hatch, installing hinges and sanding the transom. Should get the transom in primer next week. Turns out these are the same style of hinge as the star 1 boat has.

My hinges are mounted on the inside of the lip that the hatch sits in. You can't see them.
I'll see if I can find a pic.
Post 165 shows where my hinges are affixed to the boat. This is my Active Thunder but the Panther is the same way.

This is my AT but you can see how the hinges are mounted.

Thanks Rookie, I briefly considered going the hidden hinge route, but due to the upward crown of the hatch and deck in the center in these scarabs, the pivot point of the hinges would have to be pushed back and up considerably to keep the hatch from touching the deck in the center. As it stands now, with these hinges, it’s pretty close in the center and that’s with me modifying it a good bit. Here’s star1 with these same hinges...

Gotcha. My Panther hatch is mostly flat and has a sun pad so crown is a non-issue.

A few coats of polyester on the transom. Good to see it all the same color. Still working filler on the hatch. Slow go...

Finally got some polyester sprayed on the hatch. Trent finished working the glass and sprayed some gel on the bow.

Love the hatch. From the distance, it'll look original but up close, it'll look better than original (No mis-aligned gap down the middle).

Haven’t really been able to work on the boat much lately. My dads health had been bad for a while, and he passed away, his funeral was two weeks ago today. Gonna miss my dad. I was hoping to take him for a ride in this boat when it was done. Although that’s not gonna happen, it’s good to not be worrying about his health anymore.

Weather is supposed to cool down in Alabama next week and I plan to up the progress this fall. I did spend some time recently sanding on the transom...
