Well that's not great news, I just installed it on our swim platform this spring. All is well so far, hopefully it stays that way. Not something I want to do every couple years.

X2 on the 221 Schaeffer. Take whatever you think you want to use and put some on your fingers and run under water, pretty easy to tell how your grease will hold up.

You are correct, there are wires coming off the rings. There are 4 wires, I just used the connectors to speed the install, pre-made averything then just pulled through and connected.
