Yea, I think I've seen 312s for sale with 502s or 496s Seems like a big jump from a 350 or 377.

I just replaced the 350s in mine last winter, not much fun, but I'll follow along here for pics :)

I did the JR marine fix and didn't have to remove...

I did the JR marine fix and didn't have to remove the engine or transom assembly. Both of mine now have stainless steering pins and new seals. And now external hydro steering. The JR fix worked well...

I only tow 2x a year. Once to the marina, once home to the garage. I use Enterprise Truck. it's about $100-$140/day to rent a F-250 / RAM 2500 or similar. They tow great and I return it the next day....

There's about 0.002 sq ft of storage on these things. Other than that, it's a great boat. Ohh, and the ladder on all Formula's is crap. Also the anchor "locker" is crap.

the rams are usually the failure - the seals stick.
the pump has much more force in the 'up' direction. Mine both did this exact thing when I bought my boat used.

I bought 4 new SEI rams 4 years...
