Tom has all of his parts in so we are putting it back together tonight if anyone would care to join.

quick question guys. Where do you buy your carbs locally?

wstultz 04-10-2007 02:42 PM

I have ordered them before but there is a little race shop in the woodlands called Smiley's. They usually have some floating around although they aren't marine....but who uses marine carbs anyway?

wstultz 04-10-2007 02:44 PM

For marine $hit, your best bet is probably Summit or Jegs.

You can use the ones off your old carbs. Did you get the ones off your new ones yet?

no i am sending that one back and am going to order a barry grant or holley marine carb tomorrow not sure which one yet doing some research right now.

TopSpin80 04-10-2007 06:35 PM

I'm gonna call my coast guard buddy that is stationed in galveston... he says they have been making their MSST guys patrol around clear lake and I know this guy couldn't tell the difference between an marine and non marine carburator. Hell what is the difference? j-tubes? what else?

Ernie

P.S. please post pictures of your boats so I can give them to the coastguard and warn them when you are gonna be out on Clear Lake / Galveston bay

bigandy 04-10-2007 08:37 PM

a clear tube going from the the fuel pump to the carb in case the diaphram in the fuel pump goes bad or if the needle sticks, it keeps excess fuel out of the bilge. its clear so you can see if you have a problem.

since everyone is talking about it be sure you push your j tubes in all the way and that they are tight. wouldnt want them getting sucked into the motor at 5200 rpm. ask wstultz, it aint cool taking off your heads and finding a vent tube on top of the piston. fyi they are fragile, dont push on the end of them they will break!!!!

another person to check with is brad or dean @ "nickerson" for carbs, they have a much better rep then barry grant for marine and they do all the bad a$$ boats

bigandy 04-11-2007 12:34 PM

what happened, did i confuse everyone by actually putting information on this thread????

tomtbone1993 04-11-2007 02:01 PM

i have been working to pay for my new parts.......Jeff was flying to Dallas today for a insurance claim, then he was going to fly over Crawford Ranch and take some pictures.....i don't think he will be back after the air force gets done with him...Joe is getting hammered on his resin bucket.....no tellin what the Stultz boys are doing....Lefty is takin his afternoon nap..Colter is trying on new T-shirts to see wich ones makes his arms look bigger....SPK1 is in the closet touchin himself in dirty places.....BY U Boy is looking at himself in the mirror telling himself " I am Smart Enough" I am Strong Enough" and dog gone it...people like me...

Jeff is back. I did a detour fly over the lake on my way to the airport. I tried to get a picture of Joe's bota, but he had not left the shelter yet. I tried to get a picture of Lefty
s boat, but it either wasn't big enough or I didn't have a long enough camera lens flying at 50' over the water to see it. I could see the Gibson, but there is a V- chip installed in my camera that does not allow unsuitable material to be photographed.

I did get a pretty good picture of my homestead...

It appeared that the Bush's senior were vacationing around the pool. Barbara is not very appealing in swimwear and it melted my camera.

When I get out of debriefing from the Nat'l Guard I will let you in an all secrets that are declasified.

I did pic up this picture though. It appears either the Nat'l guard is having an instructional course in how to properly camoflage a Hummer, or our friend Lefty has gotten off the beaten path and can't find his way.

poor guy he needed a Land Rover to pull him out....

Lefty just rember a Hummer is just a "Hummer" a Land Rover goes all the way.........:evilb:

wstultz 04-11-2007 03:59 PM

Nice. I'm am working my ars off and battling party mudd from last night. It was all worth it thought for this conversation.....

Lefty....." stop being so sassy!"

Wednesday Adams....." Don't be mad at me because your boat has a beak and is really only a 35 footer."

Lefty...." Ohhhh why do you hurt me so? We're going to Eldarado's for that."

Wednesday Adams....."Why, because everyone there thinks you have an actual 38 foot boat."

Stultz Boys........pissing themselves in the background and trying not to laugh too hard because Crap Shoot was their only ride.

wstultz 04-11-2007 04:05 PM

On another note....the government tried tracking the misterious white missle last night in failed attempts. I seems the unidentified object was much too whiley for the trackers, as it was again seen doing high speed S turns in the middle of the pond last night. These attempts to shake its opponent turned out to be a smart move, the Apache choppers were not able to follow in fear for their own lives. One pilot was reported to have crapped his pants when following too close and spoting the erie red glow coming from the engine compartment......which was up, as usual.

I of couse am in agreement with T- Bone. You sound like a smart guy. Please stay away from the engine jokes until you can sucessfully build at least one 6-800 hp motor in your garage by yourself. And know how to name and install all carburator components.

That should be enough of a spankin for you at this moment.

No rebuttal will be needed.
