1 Dies, 2 Injured When Boat Goes Airborne
HOUSTON -- A holiday weekend boating trip ended tragically for three people, including a child, after their vessel went airborne. Investigators said the trio were on a boat in Clear Creek in League City when the driver hit a bank. A woman and a 9-year-old boy were thrown from the boat. Authorities said the 80-year-old driver lost control after making a sharp turn, possibly at a high rate of speed. The boat flew 10 to 15 feet into the air and landed in a wooded area about 100 feet away, smashing into a tree. The woman died later at Memorial Hermann Hospital. Investigators said alcohol did not appear to have been a factor in the accident. http://www.click2houston.com/news/24897322/detail.html |

damn, everyone should have just stayed home today. My heart goes out to the little girl, I hope she recovers quickly.
Just after 630am this morning MCHD responded to an auto pedestrian accident on Keenan Cut Off across from Ron’s Grocery. A 14 year old Montgomery student was walking out to the school bus which was westbound and had stopped turning on it’s warning lights and had put the stop sign indicator out. An SUV traveling at 35-40 MPH struck the girl throwing her almost thirty feet. MCHD responded to the scene as did Montgomery Fire Department. Life Flight was dispatched from Sugarland which was the closest helicopter to the scene. The Medics realizing the extended flight time decided in an effort to conserve time to start moving toward the helicopter. They met Life Flight at FM1488 and FM 149 with the help of Precinct 5 Constables and Magnolia Fire Department. She is at Hermann Hospital in stable condition and said to be doing well |

Got a few claims in and I am the designated guinea pig for the new software system that we are switching to. Gonna take hours and hours for each one until I get fluent with it. Been a long time since I had to learn anything new. In the long run it will be good for me though. Creates more opportunities with other firms now.. :coolcowboy: |
Short week this week. Whats the plans for non-texoma patrains?

Coast Guard Auxiliary Training exercise on Lake Conroe.
By: Gene Winchester Coast Guard Auxiliary members from all across the Houston/Galveston area showed up early Saturday morning on August 28 at Lake Conroe to take place in rigorous training exercises with the Coast Guard called "Operation Red Fish." These training exercises were simulations of search and rescue operations as well as a helicopter extraction from the water. While the MythBusters on TV have "Buster", the crash-test dummy to take the fall in their experiments, the Coast Guard Auxiliary has "Oscar." Oscar is used as a training dummy and fills with water to simulate the weight of a typical human. A boat took Oscar out and dumped him overboard in an undisclosed area of the lake and then fixed wing aircraft circled the lake to find him. Once a plane spotted the victim, radio contact to boats on the water relayed the location for the rescue. It sounds very straight forward, but there are many people doing several tasks well to make this successful. Once Oscar was recovered from the search and rescue, he was again placed overboard for the helicopter rescue. The Coast Guard brought up their HH-65C Dolphin helicopter, stationed at Ellington Field for this event. During this phase of the training the helicopter spotted the victim with the help of the crews aboard watercraft, some using signaling mirrors. Then it hovered in close and released a diver into the water. The victim was placed in a lowered basket and hauled aboard the chopper then the swimmer was picked up. Again, watching this from a distance looks almost routine, but seeing everything that has to go absolutely perfectly for the rescue to be successful is amazing. The Coast Guard Auxiliary is in place to promote safety on the water and working as a force multiplier for the Coast Guard. These individuals with the Coast Guard Auxiliary are volunteers that give their time and effort to make a difference. While they are sometimes motivated by different things to join, it's important to know that they are all motivated. If you would like to know more about the Coast Guard Auxiliary you can call 936-588-3322.-588-3322 |

That boat was for sale on OSO about 2 summers ago in running condition. I guess he wanted more power to go faster. Great donor boat for spk1's extra parts for the ciggie. We can chainsaw the boat up and put in a dumpster or just glass the holes up and put in Colters pond so Wade can shoot bullets at it. :party-smiley-004: |
Wade cant even shoot his old Nazi .22 without getting grease in his eye!
