Talking about manual transmissions...I would take my Getrag 6 speed manual over any but a Class 8 unit.
2007 1/2 is where the real quality problems started, with the emissions equipment including diesel particulate filter and heavy EGR. I had a chance to buy a new 2007 (pre-DPF) with a manual transmission, and am now kicking myself. That thing drove beautifully, and was actually fun to drive.

Exactly right, it's not just Dodge. They put over 1,000,000 miles on the 6.7 testing it. That should tell you about the inherent faults of the DPF and EGR systems that they couldn't solve them.

Well Chuck I have been informed on this whole issue right from 5 min after the truck quit on the side of I90, I can not belive the run around you have got from a company that I have owned 14 trucks from. My 350 (knock on wood) runs great, but my next truck will not be another ford after really thinking about what you have been through. Just think that if you impact 10 people that would potentially buy just a new 350 @ 50K ??????? Thats got to hurt them at some point. How near is the truck to coming home so that you can use your
60K investment, since its been a month now? You should go spen the 150.00 and put a hitch on your rental focus and try to move the boat with it and see what ford thinks

Well I have been out of town for work quite a bit lately, but here is the update. As of today I still do not have any return mail from the Better Business Bureau for my arbitration date. They will be my first call in the morning!!!

I did get the first call from the service writer at the dealership on Friday telling me that the truck was donne and ready to be picked up. They have test driven it (29 miles), and it seems to be running fine. I picked it up today and drove it about 20 miles home. The truck ran fine, and looking under the hood it does appear to be a complete new engine and radiator. I would think that after being down for a month and knowing how pissed off I am they could have at least washed the truck. Not only did they not even wash it, look at the pictures of the interior. I'm glad I keep rubber mats on top of the carpeted mats. Hopefully all the grease will come off the steering wheel, dooor panels, and grab handel.

Now to keep you updated on my progress with Gail,
my customer resolution specialist. Our last conversation was 11 days ago. I had asked Gail to look into a couple of things for me and get back to me as soon as she could.

1. Matt or McRaymond3 from the board informed me of a program for customers such as myself in which Ford will make their monthly payment as some sort of compensation for the truck being down so long. Gail informed me that there is such a program and that it is on a case by case basis. I asked her to submit my case and get back to me with Ford's decision. Like I said, that was 11 days ago.

2. I asked Gail if this fourth radiator was a diffrent design or diffrent manufacturer than radiator one two or three, reminding her of our conversation at radiator number three that she informed me was a diffrent design and that I would be having no more problems. again it has been 11 days and still no response.

You are crazy to have even taken it of the lot in that condition. I would have made the service manager come outside, him or herself, and cleaned all that oil and grease. That is BS and no way should after all this crap not be treated better.

You need to find a decent dealer. Most places I have worked would fire a tech that did that to a vehicle.

Chuck, post a complaint to the dealer service manager about that. He should make it right.

Then find another dealer. It's obviuos these guys dont care for your business.

I hope the new radiator and engine fix the issues.

Was just talking trucks with a buddy of mine and mentioned this thread.

I know Ford is in better shape than the other 2, however IMHO all US automakers are in more trouble than the others. They should have rectified this long ago.

I know- US automakers are the only ones offering work trucks but times are a changing. Americans start buying again Toyota dually with the Hino will be coming out sooner than later..
