Loosen the belt. Take both hoses off and unbolt the housing off. Really not that bad. You will spend a lot more time taking apart the interior. Off/on and running again in under an hour.

Don't tuck the drive and turn. Tucking the drive puts the bow down and transom up and can cause the boat to spin out if there is air already in the step.

I have a 18 foot sugar sand jet boat. There are some large boats that I saw last year at inland. 38 Powerquest and some large cruisers stay there. I think you would be fine just need to stay trimmed...

The hull design and high x dim create a lot of prop slip. I use a 5 blade to help with my slip. I gained over 5mph at 3100rpm but lost 5 at 4900rpm. I spend most my time under 3500 rpm so it works...
