Those fuel regulator pics look scary!

What is the device hanging off the L/S compressor section in the x section you posted? Does the fuel pump run off the accessory gear?

"Inlet bleed heat" used on modern ground based frame machines as well...

Is there provision for a jack under the lower compressor casing to support center of unit when pulling the upper? You can feeler check the upper vertical flanges when bolts are relaxed...to get a feel for casing position...

Have fun!

Hey.....l am curious. ...what kind of speeds do you run in this machine...l assume you run a number 6 drive....what about a shaft set up...say ASD 8....I bet with the right set of wheels you could it 150...160....and still have room to go....

ok the centrifugal compressor half was harder then i expected it must be forced towards the intake
prybar would not cut it after removing all the bolts holding it on.
i ended up using a snap on prybar and whacking it with a hammer.
applying slight heat and pb blaster.
hitting it easy.

BTW. ..l heard the geico turbine powered boat caught fire last year. ...and just last week another boat in key west almost suffered the same fate....what do you think the riskiest part of operation with a turbine could be...they dont run on gasoline. ..the fuel is more like diesel...oil based...so it would be less combustible. ..

shafts and a rudder are the real way to go.
Speed is never enough.
The difference between a 703 and a 13B is about 400hp
there are approx 20 different parts inside the engine that gives it the increased hp.

The heat of the combuster and exhaust. This problem combined with any leak of oil or fuel will certainly be a issue.
I have had a oil line blow on my PSI blower motors spraying oil all over the engine. Caught the problem fixed the leak and continued
the poker run with oil all over the engine. Try that with a Turbine powered vessel.
Closed canopy is also amplifying the problem because the pilots in there may not catch the fire on time.
