Pete, it's over Dude. Don't even bother.:evilb:

I am not one to give up, I know where I am, and where I can get to, as others have been there before me. As long as this thing puts a grin on my face all is good, when that ceases to happen she's down the road. So far, so good.:D Didn't spend this kinda money to impress anyone, other than ME.

I do have a backup plan, got another call on a leftover staggered 35 Fountain first of this week. A man always needs options.

In all honesty, would not. I am very happy with the boat. Every time I run it I learn something new about it, and so far all is good, it's a fantastic hull design. Would I like to tweak a few more MPH out of it? Sure I would, and I believe that will come with the right custom props, when I finally figure out exactly what it needs. But I refuse to give up the handling for the sake of a MPH or two, I'm hoping I can end up with both ends of the stick here.

:D, there you go Bob, that grin's for you!!!

Twat you sayin'? One end of the stick would be the xtra MPH, the other end of the stick would be retaining the handling characteristics that I have grown fond of.

You heading for the Bay today??? Might make it there later today, need to test some props first and might just do that down here on this end of the river. The launches are better as well as parking the trailer while out for a while. Kewadins parking is a mile away, a real PIA. I need to run these for a while, and then haul out and switch, and then relaunch. Plus I'd rather keep this whole testing deal a little secret. ;);)

RaggedEdge 05-24-2008 09:05 PM

Well we just got home from a fanstatic day on the River, all afternoon testing props and getting Brett the info he wants on this set. Tucked the boat back in the garage for the night, little wipe down with some detailer, nothing's too good for my baby after her performance today. Stopped and had dinner, a celebratory sort of dinner, and then came home to watch the days videos. Gotta tell you boys, There is a new Sheriff in Town. To quote Thirdbird and sum it all up Unfugginbelievable !!!! :D I may have the biggest number ever posted by a stock, non dicked with 35 side by side 525 Fountain sitting on my GPS recall right now. And I ain't blowin' smoke out my arse, I can prove it, GPS recall and video shot while running of the tachs and speedo. :D :D This Black Biotch runs!!! :D :D

Ok, so how many of you flockin' bastiges knew about the extension boxes?

Well boys it ain't going to be enough. Axa is running pretty well, boat attitude seems better. Since I did show him this today I will now share it with the rest of you.

Read it and weep boys!!! This was saturday afternoon, lite on fuel, into the wind and upstream, and on rails.
These props have yet to be labbed or dialed in. Stay tuned boys it can only get better from here.

Pete,

That is very impressive !!!
What props are using? Did you try the Herrings yet or are they the 5 blade Maximas?
I finally got in the water myself yesterday to try some props from Brett at BBlades.
They worked out great for me as well. Not the numbers you getting mind you. I was looking for something to pick up my mid range.

Jeff

RaggedEdge 05-25-2008 09:12 PM

As the Black Biotch sits now, here is how I see things,

Bird is my buddy so I won't pick on him. :D

Got Twins is put away @ 3500-3600 RPM, a nice slow cruise setting, good for sightseeing.

Rippem goes down around 4200-4300 RPM, a comfortable faster cruise.

5PM is fast becoming history @ 4600-4700 RPM, starting to get into the program, but not real serious about it just yet.

Axa, he is hanging in there, we can wait and see what happens here once he's ready. We were not, however, in the new action video camera shooting the rear view of his boat today. :D Come to think of it, I don't remember see that "Chillin' the Most" sticker at all. :p

Have several videos that Samantha shot standing over my shoulder of the gauges that you can watch, and see yourselves go Bye Bye Boys. :D Ask Axa, he has seen them.

There's a New Sherrif in Town boys, and she's a Black Biotch!!!

BTW, you think the bird will "soar" to these numbers?

I don't need a He-Man hauler to post up the big numbers. I'll just do it on the water where you're supposed to do it. :p

ThirdBird 05-26-2008 06:27 AM

All I can say is those are pretty big numbers. That black beaker is doing some pretty serious speeds. This might be a very interesting shoot-off. Hope you guys are going to wait till the whole crowd is there for the show.

Pete, you're crowing pretty loudly. But, it looks like you have reason to.

Axa, pretty silent in your corner, any punches left?

:food-smiley-007:

got twins ? 05-26-2008 08:29 AM

Ok, so let's set the date for this "MAIN EVENT" !!!!

According to those stats that Pete is quoting I will need to arrive the day before to get down the river.

It must be all that polishing that Pete did over the winter.

Or
Is that just a protective sticker you get when you buy new guages showing you where you "could" get to with a meticulate race boat like Pete's.

Things that make you go hmmmm ......

LOL .... LOL .....

Pete once again those are some pretty serious numbers ..... I hope that "Black Biotch" is still together when I finally get to see it.

Well I'm feeling pretty good about where this prop testing is going. Seems to be a real easy way to increase my speed, though I did have to make an investment in a torque wrench. It's just like waxin', Props on......Props off. Speed goes up, Life is good. :D

Well I think yesterday was only a little teaser run. Though someone did have a nifty little waterproof video camera mounted on the swim platform, and the big number 4 blades sitting there behind the shinny new ext boxes. I was working on the test program for Brett and had it loaded with fuel to see how these props carry the extra weight. Could only pull 89-90 into a strong wind, and what Axa termed a very strong current. On the way home it did hit 92 going into the Brockville Narrows, less fuel but still showing almost full on the gauges, who knows, this program is just getting started. I don't remember what Axa said he was running and his GPS recall still won't work . Mine however is working just fine, as you can see!:D

I can wait for the crowd to gather, and I'm sure Axa is sitting there this morning scratching his head and searching the internet for some more trick set ups.

Anyone hear / seen how well the footage from the new high tech "Stern Cam" turned out.................................Of Bobs 31 Sonic??????? Had yet to be downloaded when we had to leave HBW yesterday. Maybe the Sonic wasn't the intended subject matter. :(

Whenever you boys want, send the invite, I promise to RSVP, in person.

I am crusing at 3500 showing almost 60 mph. You take it from there.

Wax has nothing to do with it, just old school thinkin', testin', learnin', and a little can do attitude.

Axa can verify for you that there is no fake sticker on that speedo, he has seen it up close and in person. And I might remind you these are not real race boats, so we've been told. Mine is just a plain old everyday run of the mill Fountain. It just has this odd quirky habit of acting like one.

Or things that make you go UH-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I couldn't agree with you more. Here's mine, in case you missed it. Where are the ones from the Formula camp? I would think an honest progress report would be in order here. After all, this is all in good fun here right? Nobody is really all that serious about this chit, are they? True sportsmanship and all that, would be like you playing golf with your buds and using some secret wepon golf balls. Shame on you! :angry-smiley-044:

Secrets amoungst buds? Lets put the cards on the table here, no more of this extra aces hidden up the shirt sleves. Extension Boxes just slip your minds here? Just happened to forget to mention that? May be a means to an end here, but really goes against the "Good Buds Code". My money says there are a few more tricks that have yet to crawl out from under the rock. And even money says some of you have been given a look see under the old Formula rock.

The best of the Black Biotch so far, click on it twice and you can see it's an honest 94, not close to, or almost, actually it's just past 94, and you can count on me trying to better it. Game On Boys !!! :D

No, Sonic Bob is the only one who could possibly show up in the high tech butt cam. Your long time friend and bestest ever bud Axa has the Extension Boxes. WTF did he leave you out of the loop on this clandestine opp as well? Flockers out of the loop? WTF?

You might want to reconsider which side of the fence you want to plant your arse on here bud.

BTW, bout time you blow the cobwebs off that thing. Some of us have been running for a month already. F' golf, its boatin' season!

Boxes, Boxes, Boxes...Get your boxes!! :p

It was pretty funny when Pete looked at the back of the boat for the first time and said I was cheating! Didn't know I had a set of rules to follow. When he said there was something hanging off the back of the boat, I jumped on the sun pad and said "What, where? Oh...those!"

Ragged ran real good yesterday, the boat looked awesome. Real classy, and of course clean. He has me by a couple right now. But in my defense, I have 1.7 hours on the new power and my same old props. Let the testing begin! No more secrets here, you've seen it all. Just got to get her dialed in, might try some different props, when I get a chance. Haven't even bolted on the 5 blades yet, but I will.

As far as the stern cam and the recall button??? I have NO idea what's going on there. A little technical issue to deal with and it will all be fine. I have to change the camera angle a little to show more of the water and less of my bow. Consider it work in progress.

I have to focus on the race boat for the next week or so We will be in Ocean City, Maryland on Thrusday and race on Sunday. Hope to test on Oneida tomorrow or Wednesday.

Here is a few shots of the TOP Secret box installation!

That's protection from any little half ton gasser guy that can't quite see over the steering wheel.....AXA might want to invest, looks like he's about 4' past the end of that converted pontoon boat trailer he's got.........

AXA,

Give me a call if you make it to Oneida the next couple days. I've got golf league Wed. but would be open for lunch....Waterfront, Boathouse, etc.....

RaggedEdge 05-27-2008 07:32 AM

I'll admit that the boxes were a supprise, not what I expected. I was thinking more in terms of blowers, something that would really up the program. I don't recall saying that it's cheating, I agree there are no rules. I will take issue with "by a few", do the math here, you said 88 was best to date, my recall which you saw says 94. Take-aways being as they are, 94 less 88 equals 6 MPH. Sunday, full of fuel, I was @ 89 -90 on the way to the Bay, what was it you said you were running? Be honest here we're all buds. Your speedo might not have been working but that other GPS unit will tell you the same number.

Lets just say sunday was like testing, don't count for chit. You get some hours on those race motors, as my stockers are all broken in. Install whatever else you ordered on line yesterday morning, get it all dialed in and proped out, BBlades has all my data so you can just have him shoot for that numbe. Then I'll give you plenty of time to draw a crowd, make sure the Bow Cam is working well, and you need not worry about the Butt Cam anymore, might just as well send it back for a refund. When all is good we'll have at it. No rules here, do what you gotta do. Just be sure to bring your A game. And if I were you, I'd take my advice and get me some shorties, I would pass on buddy Bobos Imco chit and do the Merc Sportmasters, just call Monte about the weed deal before you place your order. So you know in advance, I'll be lite on fuel, with a couple cans in my chase boat in case I run out.

Thanks for the compliments, it's important to have your shine on :D. You might try the three coats of Collinite, seems to be quite aero-slick stuff.

Axa will be sending out invites whenever he's ready, I've agreed to give him plenty of time to get all pimped up and draw a crowd. I also would put money on the fact that we haven't seen the last of the supprise improvements, would be out of character for our good bud Axa. Maybe they can bring the "Race Boat" and we can have a three way deal, would add some excitement for the race fans.

Game On !!! :evilb:

Every time we go up to the bay we just fall in love with that place more and more. Was a little cold but if we kept it under 90 it was not to bad.Had a great time with Axa and his bride Saturday night..Dinner and drinks till they asked us to go home at closing time..Wish you could have made it back Pete...:D

As far as the "butt" cam I bet I looked good if it was working..The fact that I was the only one that was in the Bay for the early season run off they are going to have to give me a head start next time..By the time I made it back to the dock they were looking at spotless eng. compartments and watching videos. You think that you have something clean till you hang out with the A-bay boys..They both look great!! And I have no idea who made it back to the dock first..

I do have some pics of Axa and the "New Sheriff in Town" but we will have to see how they came out when we get back in the boat tonight..
