I just know how you guys work, so I clarified my position in regard to "Fairy Guys" so that you couldn't take it and run off on some convoluted tangent with it.

Reality check here ......... How much snow you got out there right now? Not so much as a flake here yet, chit it was close to 60 today and it's been that way for the past few weeks. Tell me I'm wrong!

Ya know Ragged, I've got a sled and all, but, I'd be perfectly happy if it never snowed and that thing sat in the garage all winter.

I know that is not going to happen.

I know that will never happen as well. But the last month or so has been nice when compared with last year. Down there in your area snow is a sure thing but up here it's been a long time since we have had a real old fashioned snowy winter. Years ago we always had snow half way thru hunting season, and when it was over we were on the sleds. We just don't see that much anymore. I'm sitting here watching the weather and they are still calling for sunshine, very little rain, and temps in the upper 40's to low 50's thru next week.

ext2gtx 11-20-2009 06:23 PM

Axa,nice sled, i'm glad you did't buy a top of the line sled, because i can't take your boat but i can take your sled, that being said lets ride.

axapowell 11-20-2009 08:14 PM

Hey Pachanga...Don't make me "pipe" this thing!! I hear that is the magic bullet! Don't worry, I got a lot of catching up to do with you guys! Oh, yea almost forgot, I'm looking forward to it!

The hood is off to the body shop to get a little scuff taken care of, the new seat is on the way, and the carbs are coming off on Monday for the annual check up! Man this is fun!

Dave

PS: Larry and Ruth have my entire mid-cabin seating and are getting ready to strip the ultra-leather. The Formula Factory is getting the "go-ahead" on Monday to complete the 2010 skin update. We'll see what's brewing in "dashland" next!

Rippem 11-21-2009 03:36 AM

This is going to be fun!

Glad to hear you bought into the sickness Dave, I know we had discussed it at one time...

got 5 sleds nearing completion in the building at my place now-
lots of mechanical service and mods, venting, risers, bars, track swaps, as well as some sweet body mods color changes/cosmetics

expecting 14 shocks back from my "guy" downstate early this week

we are stoked, though the season's gonna start late-no doubt about it.

I had to do it! I'm heading out West in December to do some Mountain Riding, so I had to "gear up" anyways. Got all of the riding gear and decided I might as well have a sled to go with it.

I am going to Island Park Idaho (about 4 hours away from Park City Utah and Rock Star!) the middle of December and am going to ride Two Top Mountain Trail, Grand Teton Mountains, and The Continental Divide. We will ride through Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming (just outside of Yellowstone Park). Should be something!

Then when I get back, we should have something on the ground...I'll catch up with all you guys and share the fun!

Dave

Thanks Mike!! Gotta repaint my pipe though. Just did it last season. Snow lands on it while its hot and craps the paint up. I've been using ultra-high temp stove paint. Maybe that stuff isn't very good for moisture.

Ok I will go into hibernation...I just want to ask why would they but a tail light on the sled the size of something I would see on a buick??:drink:

ThirdBird 11-22-2009 06:56 PM

Well Bob, there actually is a technical reason for the seemingly abnormally large tail lights - a vacuum at the rear of the sled coats the the back of the sled (and the rider) with snow. The bigger lights are more visible even when coated with snow. All sleds have huge tail lights.

Of course once you have the purple sled you will need protective head gear. Bird has that covered, you should just get the same ...............

ThirdBird 11-24-2009 05:25 PM

I'm a Grampa!!!!

My daughter Jessica and her Husband Austin had a baby boy today at 11:50 am. 11lbs, 7oz. Little guy has some fluid in his little lungs but the doctors assured Jessie it will clear. It better!!! He's my first boy! I had two girls. Never had a little boy to buy "boy stuff" for. Told my daughter, "Little Austi is going to have everything he shouldn't have before he should have it".

Lets see,,,,,,,,,,,, A 19' pickle fork with a 2.5, an ATV, A sled, a .22..................... all sorts of things on my list!!!! He'll be a master skipper by the time he's ten.

Fun, fun, fun!!!!!!!

However, this whole Grampa thing makes me OLD!! Maybe now I'll act my age.

5PMSMWHR 11-25-2009 06:04 PM

Congrats to you Grampa Bird!!! And to all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. Kitty and I are headed to Lauderdale in the morning for some pre holiday relaxing. Have snow for us when we get back, our snowboards are waxed and ready to go......

upstate31sonic 11-25-2009 08:35 PM

Congratulations Dave!!! Another reason to have a party at the pond...His first day on the beach would be a good one to celebrate:drink:

Happy T-day every one!!
And if you have time check out the science channel Thanksgiving night at 8 for the pumpkin chunkin. If you have never seen these red necks in action trying to lunch a pumpkin over one mile it is great entertainment:drink:

axapowell 11-26-2009 09:18 AM

Publically announced...Congratulations to the entire Bird Clan!!

Everybond enjoy their Thanksgiving!

Dave and Gail

Sorry about the working today but...It must be layed back if you are posting on a boating sight at work...You have to pay for your hobbies some how....

Would be great to have you come boat with us in the northeast..If you ever do. Plan it for a week in august. You can see one of the biggest poker runs in the U.S. and we can show you some great boating spots that you would think that your boat would never fit...Thanks to our great friend Jeff that grew up in the thousand islands....Or just leave your boat at home we have plenty of room on other boats..:drink:

As Sonic said...You are welcome anytime with or without your boat. We will always make room!! Bummer about working on Gobble Gobble Day....

Dave

dave krehbiel 11-27-2009 09:40 AM

Thanks for the sympathy and invite,I am going to try and get over there on of these days. It was an unusually slow day but, it was a big money day. Our city made the mistake of putting internet on the computers in our cars so I just have to use it,LOL.

I was picking up what Ragged laid down, he speaks my language.

Thanks Pete and everyone else. Little Austie is doing perfectly. He sleeps almost all night and just seems to be happy to be here!!! He's a perfect little boy. His mom and dad are very proud.

As for the snow Axa, went through a pretty good blast between Adams Center and Lowville accross Rt. 177 on my way to Saranac Friday. None there now but it was snowing so hard I couldn't see the windmills. Little bit up in Saranac but nothing stuck. Looks like an after-Xmas year for riding.

Got that Yimmiha all spiffed??

No more boat talk on the docks, all going to be about Austie now. He took his first step, said his first word, out of diapers and pee'd all by himself today. Can't wait to hear what he names his Grandfather. My son came up with "Mumpy" for my Father, no idea where the fock that came from, but it stuck. Maybe he'll just call him the "Old Bird".
