YES, Kevin, I was close after 20+ years!
axa- finally got that sticker I was missing painless- i gotta "guy" my guy says if I want to put the boat in the water i can keep it at his place just up from the bridge can't describe how nice the set-up is! 3 boats and 3 'Vettes you can get the idea... might have to take him up on that for a few weeks |
Rip, nice...throw a pic up after you are done with the install!

That first Formula was an '88 223SS. Bought it in '92. Had 90 hours on it. All the canvas, pillows, potty, etc were still in the factory wraps!! An undertaker from Morristown bought it new from Wright's Marina. That boat was absolutely like new! I smiled every time I drove it. What a difference between that hollow kettle of junk and that Formula!!! Took it up the a$$ when I sold the Imperial. Ended up selling for less than I owed!! Live and learn.

That 223 has been around. Third after you had it, at some point made it's way to Pittsburg and then my Brother-in-Law and sister bought it. We brought it back upstate and they used it mostly on The River and down in albany area. They went into a 242 and think the 223 went to the Rochester area. Was in great shape when it left his hands. Trying to find a pic of that boat that I had floating around that was wall worthy.

We were absent this past weekend but stopped by to check on the Biotch on the way home late Sunday afternoon. Ran into Hot Stepper and the first thing out of his mouth was that the King of the River Run was on this comming weekend. Not to bring this chit up again but I did tell him I would cover $250 on a one way run and a solid $1000 on a "down and back" run what you brung deal.
Just a FYI for the Big Busters out there. Game on? |
A whole day and none of the bad azz ball busters have jumped on this deal. WTF, there must be at least one of you flag bearers out there that has nads enough to step up and put your narcissistic ego on the line here. Stepper claims he is in with his 496 powered 280 Velocity, you big men that scared of the possibilitiy of Bev on the sticks?
|
Another year has come and gone, Hot Stepper has left and is Michigan bound, not a single Flocker stepped up to take up his challenge for King of The River.
I can only wonder if this TIBBC thread should not be changed to the Thousand Islands Big Bullchitters Club thread. Lots of talk and no action. Perhaps the Boathouse Flocker tension took away from this event. What a shame, boys you need to grow up! |
and another former boat shows up on CL!
saw the little Pac relisted last week too! http://watertown.craigslist.org/boa/3273849748.html what was that about flocker tension? thought my departure was to be the end of all boathouse tension and drama? looking for one or two "nice" 50/80/125cc 4 wheelers (4 stroke pref) no Chinese junk if anybody has/spots something let me know later model with full footboards a plus |

thought my departure was to be the end of all boathouse tension and drama? Guess it might be why the most popular flocker thread was found on page 3. Slept thru it myself but hear tell it was, to quote Bird, Not Good. Your leaving, it would seem, was not the end all, cure all. End of season mimicked the old saying, "Thrill of Victory, Agony of Defeat." The Boathouse Flockers departed early for varied reasons. I just spent the fall season in search of the big number. Love that thrill of victory. Problem right now is the prop wizzard tells me that the Hydros are backordered till spring. BTW is that 22 Pac your old one? Have someone I have thought of mentioning it to. |

I ran into the second owner a couple weeks ago also...hadn't seen him in years. but... I do see one of his daughters at work and brought in pics of her at a very very smoking 18 striking poses in a tiny bikini on the back of my boat partying somewhere back in '91 blew her mind... and BTW she's still really sharp and a total live-wire |
the things you overhear...
Discovery network alien something on in the back room I'm out in the hall... 9yo brother asks 6yo brother- "why do aliens always anal probe people?" 6 yo answers- "they gotta get the poop out to get to the brains" keeping in mind he has a very high scaled IQ I thought to myself- this kid stands a chance! |
Alright "Ball Busters" Our annual Halloween party is this Saturday (Oct 27) on Caster Rd. We are all stocked up with beer, wine, liquor, propane tanks and of course JP Shaggy.
|
In Napa Valley till the 29. Sorry .
Dave |
Happy Turkey Day to all the TI Busters from Samantha and I.
Eat, drink, and be happy. Don't drink to much, the real Black Friday bargain deals start at midnight tomorow, that is if the WallyWorld people show for their shift. |

As for the upcoming year, this clown hopes things are on the upswing for all. May all have a prosperous new year, good times, good friends, minus the drama that need not be a part of what we are really about here. Happy New Year to all the Busters! |
Happy New Year to all of y'all from Alabama.

You too Robert. Great to see you around. |

Didn't even notice, been somewhat focused on other chit lately. I do understand that there has been some discord within the Flocker camp over the winter months. Tales of discord and great disgust with many things great and small. Oh well, WTF!!! These days I find myself grateful to simply wake up every morning. I'd do the tooner and shoot for trips. |

are you serious? and what's your meaning? a tune would be low maintenence and usable in all respects that I need in that arena... and not a ton of cash really as long as you keep it reasonable thinking a 20' with a 70 for tubing ect. and to make ~23-24mph and a few select options opinions? experiences? |

are you serious? and what's your meaning? Mark has taken on Bennington tooners and they are not a bad deal for a peson looking to get on the water with a bunch of folks for some good times. I have said for years there was a decent market for just that. They are basic, simple and can be configured to do many things reasonably well. Hard to argue with that! Now throw trip Verados on one, could be a hoot! :D |
Well boys...... This flocker can't wait for summer 2013 .... I too have been very busy this fall and busy.....
I hope everyone is doing well.... Rip.... I like the "Premier" line of toons ..... mind you these things can get stupid real quick with regards to pricing ..... Lol .... I just noticed my picture is off ..... apparently i need to renew my membership .... Take care talk to you soon ..... |
I don't see a new pontoon happening...
that has been chased down more $ than I want (or need) to spend to accomplish the mission and the sacrifices in speed and rough water capability my concern in the above regard is going places, and being able to get back relatively quickly if the need arises oh well back to the original plan. it's just that the needs are so wide head floorspace as a % of LOA access to the swim platform (transom door would be ideal) seating for 6 'glass floor/snap ins ideal boats I know (Sea Ray) sample: early 90's 225/240 BR (floorspace, head, seating) 10-12K for a nice one 89/90 220 CC (big open cockpit for it's size, head/small cabin, transom door, probably worst ride of the bunch here but most available also) 89/90 260CC (biggest cockpit, head/small cabin, ride) 87/88 250CC (big cockpit, head/small cabin, tank) obviously the big BR with head is ideal, but they are hard to come by and still commanding some good $ when you can find one. I've seen a half dozen in the last 12 months of on/off searching. They were before the big BR took off. a cabin would come in handy if the boat is big enough otherwise. |
have considered the WA route also
easy cleanup head/tiny cabin usable, accessable forwrd deck you can really use the whole boat even with a cabin typically quite seaworthy typically no platform and seating is a problem |
Wow ..... for a thread that was one the most viewed or used .... I can't believe we are on page 6 .....
Oh well .... Well on another note ..... Just confirmed my slip between my 2 buddies this season at the Bay .... Looking forward to an awesome season! |

I've been a little under the weather lately, not very up on the news so to speak, more focused on getting out of bed the next morning, must have missed this one. So if the Flockers will not even welcome one of their own I guess I'll have to step up with a Boathouse Welcome. I had heard that we were getting new chitters, had no clue it was you. Bringing Mike and Ken with you? |

Looking forward to seeing you soon.... Hope you are feeling better you ole Reggie boat drive'in fool.....:lolhit: Will be good to see you guys up here. A boat ride just can't come soon enough for me this year. The one real thing that my little deal back a few months ago has taught me is the value of true friends. People that make the call to see if you are OK. I owe a big Thank You to a bunch of you on here. You guys know who you are and what I am talking about. Thank You does not begin to cover it. Now lets just go F'n boating!:boat: |
Peter
got the feel from your previous post that you had a bout with ill health or the like. if that was the case, hope that all is well for you now. Randy |

Was an interesting winter to say the least. Drove myself to the ER mid Feb to find the BP less than 10 points below the end of the scale. More tests than any man needs in a lifetime and a fist full of pills each day have me here able to think about boating for another season. The "S" word with several others in the past makes me a very lucky little F'er, so those in the know tell me. All I can think is that I must have someone up there with some serious pull. |
So we're a pontoon thread now, Great! New neighbors in the boathouse, yeah sure. I'll bring my ref jersey and time out chair. Pete, good to know you still have a pulse, maybe now you'll start running and biking in the mornings with Kitty and I. Boats out of storage and will be headed up mid week before Memorial Day. Any of you who can provide thoughts on my post in general q&a would be appreciated.....

You may just have to beat feet on your own. I'm still working on the walking at times without tipping over deal, modern medicine is a wonderful thing and I assume at some point someone will figure out the mixing formula. New neighbors in the Boathouse is what I hear. Long as you all get to bed at a respectable hour and don't disrupt my beauty sleep I'm fine with whatever. Might want to consider a time out bench. :party-smiley-004: |

Seldom a quiet moment in the Boathouse, and it sounds like this year might be a real interesting one. |
Good to see the bears are coming out of hibernation.
