What is the plan for tomorrow? Chuck is making a run to Wild Duck for lunch, not in the bat though, in the formula, then they are going to Still pond for the rest of the day.

I will be a bit late getting in because Loretta has to work in the morning. Hopefully I will be able to get in by 1230 or so. I am considering putting in at DE City and running down the canal with you depending on what time you put in. Le tme know.

We had a good day yesterday, ran back up the canal after leaving the Inn in the dark, it was a cool ride for sure.

So I changed my outdrive oil yesterday. The oil overall looked fantastic, no metal flakes in it like the last time I changed it, which was mostly just the break in flakes that Bravo style drives put out. There were however three or four decent sized chunks of metal on the magnets, one on the lower magnet and the rest on the upper. Pulled off the back cap to check out the upper gears and didnt really like what I found. The Lower drive gear is pretty smooth, as to be expected, and on what looked like 4 or 5 teeth had one small spot of pitting on each, which is I assume where the metal flake/chunks came from. They werent from the tip of the tooth, but deep into the groove where the tips of the pinion gear is hitting and wearing. Soooo long story short, it looks like an upper rebuild is coming up in the near future for me.

Anyone recommend a drive shop?

I am going to continue running it, probably change the oil out again in 10 hours and recheck. I am half considering getting a Left hand bravo and running in reverse, as the upper gear is perfect. It really wasnt in the budget for this right now, so hopefully I can make it to winter without destroying the case or doing any permanent damage.

Hey Don, you still have that -3 upper? Interested in selling it? Might be time for a spare for me.
