MDG Pat has the info correct. Mind like an elephant. MRD told me the boat ran rite at 99mph with a 750 and bravo 4 blade. Did confirm the hp to me. Did run a 1.36 gear because props back in 99 didnt come with as much pitch as today .They never did any real dialing in of the boat. They did say it was very very lite Around 3700. Thats when I took it to the scales and with the bravo and 100 gallons of fuel it came in at 4550. Back in 1999 your prop choices where very limited. Either a bravo or hydromotive. You know I didnt buy the boat for its speed, I wanted the newer bottom and the tempest deck. The speed was a perk !
Big tube header will definatly help with 800hp. Some companies say big tube but still have a 2 inch primary tube. Be carefull what you buy. Dont know what would be better at 5500 rpm ! 2 or 2.25 primary tubes. Only the dyno will answer that question.
Last your going to try a herring Hmm ? A herring from a tunnel mite not be best for a V bottom. Their cut very specific.

It's looking great! I can't wait to see it in person this summer. We should be around the last week/weekend of August.

Zuperboat, the herring props i have were built for a 38 powerplay MDG572-700hp,they are probably too small 15-27 6blade,when he was running 4-blade he turned a bravo 1 32-4 blade lab finish, the boat ran good with 4-blades but was very hard to come on plane. We switch to 5-blade hydro,15-29 came on plane nice but lowered rpm to around 5000,the 5-6 blades hook up real well and changes slip ratio ,usually switching to 5-6 blade requires lowering pitch a few sizes. If the herrings hook up real well(5-7 slip) and i can turn it 6000 who knows, might work.

Those props for a V bottom just mite be the ticket. 5-7% slip is amazing. Not to many singles running those slip numbers. My slip if I remember from last year was 21%. It was 14% running a stock bravo 26P. Ill send you a PM today.

5-7% would be amazing...

Zup, you may need to ditch that 3 blade for a 5 blade; although you do have her running pretty strong these days.

The slip numbers on my boat are quite good; with a 3 blade Mirage + or a 4 Blade Bravo 1 it is 9-10%. With a Hydro P5X, I think I have to trim too high because the slip is not much better at around 9%.
