HEY pat,the prop shaft is actually 2 bellow bottom, the konrad is on a 8 box so i figure it will be a good starting point, konrad makes spacers so no big deal if too high, can always shim down, hard to shim up.I just got in apair of 6-blade herrings for a customer, maybe with the high x the 6 blade might be the hot ticket, going to give one a try.A lot of new props out there this year, going to be intersesting to see what works best on this new y2k bottom design.
On my little straight V 24' Super the prop shaft is 5" below.
She runs fastest with 3 blade props but can be a real handful to drive. With a 4 blade she is a tick or two slower but handles far better. I have tried a 5 blade and the boat runs real smooth and I'm sure would handle the rough even better than with a 4. The problem with the 5 blade on my boat is that I have to trim to the moon to get her to run fast.
I guess to go along with a 5 blade I'd need a short lower.
Would you agree?
I don't mind spending the extra $$ for a 5 blade but a short lower is not in the budget yet.

zuperboat, what size bravo prop were you running with bravo set up? I heard that boat ran close to 100 when first run, don't know how much power though.I know the konrad will be slower than the bravo, but that is why i am installing big tube headers so my engine will make a true 800hp.If i were running a bravo set up i would have not spent the extra money on the big tubes(50 hp extra on this engine)because the bravo would be short lived with 750.I feel that this boat should run about the same as a750 hp bravo set up,but with complete outdrive reliability, and low maintenance.won't be long ,she will be in water soon.

When I first met up with Zuperboat his boat was power by a 575+Hp/540cube engine hooked to an Imco Bravo drive on a 12" extension box. The boat was vary fast, 85+mph, and if I remember correctly, 26p Bravo 1, 1.36 drive ratio. The drive broke 2 or 3 times, then the speedy #4. I'll let Mike tell the rest, it is his boat after all...

Hey pat i think his boat originally was sold to a guy in california,i saw it in hot boat in reader rides(i think) I thought it had a blower motor 750hp or so and ran 100.Thats what john at superboat told me .I don't think he ever ran it himself so i guess a lot of second hand info.Anyone ever ride in it with the 750/ bravo setup?

How that drive holding up?
You either got a real good one or you baby it.
From what I've heard DonY2K did blow his drive chasing triple digits. I think FX wrote that JC was going to detune his motor a little.
