You are so close with the 25p. You could try bumping the timing maybe 1* and see if that gets you there. Just be careful because you have that high compression.

I think when mine get back together, they will actually advance out to around 34-36* at WOT.

i also checked my prop and the hydromotive i thought was a 24p is actually a 25p 4 blade. Maybe i can lab the hydro and get 400rpm's out of it that should put me over 70:cool:

I have talked to some genuine Merc guys and they say the new computers will actually advance all the way to 38*. THey run them at WOT on the water with the diagnostic computer hooked up.

im running an hei distibutor. Ill have to look and see what the advance is. It is not a merc ignition its marine power.
