Re: Latest Manatee Update from FL Today Newspaper.

I've seen manatees swiming along side of me when idling out to Tampa Bay but if you get too close to them they dissappear. They always stay close to shore too, I've never seen on in open water. ...

Re: Stolen Boats and equipment??

A nice Cigarette 33 Cafe Open was stolen in Tampa this year too. I also wonder how and where these boats are transported to. They're too high profile and attract too much attention to sell them a...

Re: What do you think of this boat?

I have an '85 28ss and I love it. Small blocks with TRS drives. It eats up 2 ft chop like its not even there. Not only are big blocks heavier but theres not much room under the hatch to work on...

Re: anyone use seastar hydraulic steering

As far as going with a cheaper system other than full from the helm external hydraulic steering, it just depends on how much you value you and your passengers safety, especially in a single engine...

Re: Who's got the 24 Pantera on Candlewood lake CT ??

It has a regular bravo 1. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts. He is fanatical about maintenance and the boat is not too heavy but I have a feeling it's doomed for failure. The motor...

Re: Question for history buffs

In the '87 Key West race Steve Curtis' Cougar won the open class, I think I remember reading about this in Boating Magazine way back when, Pete Hildago in American Dream won modified. Bob Kaiser was...

Re: Question for history buffs

Question 2 is confusing me because I have a Freeze Frame tape of the 1987 Worlds in Key West, I have another of the Worlds in Atlantic City in 1989. I wasn't personally at either race so I'm not...

Re: TRS lower gimbal pin/bearing-how hard?

Are you talking about the lower pin on the gimble ring? In other words, if you grab your drive and lift up on it does it move up and down? I have this problem on my stbd drive. I've heard you can...

Re: Hydraulic Steering question

You need to get a hydraulic helm. I've seen exactly what your talking about and the only solution is full hydraulic. It will make a world of difference, you will love it.

Re: Cigarette 28SS and Towing

I hauled my 28 ss from the border of Kentucky/Tennessee to St. Pete FL with my 1995 Chevy K1500 5.7 work truck. At the time it had like 190,000 miles on it. It was fine. A little slow getting...

Wow, that thing looks great. I think you made the right decision on questioning the first version. The thicker grey stripe on the bottom really sharpens up the lines. Good luck with the rigging.
